To go from the glorified tech demo that was Next Car Game to this... Bugbear have done a tremendous job and have created a hilarious and satisfying demolition derby game. This is a true successor to FlatOut.

It's a neat game that lasts about 10 or so hours, but I do feel it overstayed its welcome. The fighting had an interesting idea (custom combos) that ended up just being a boring button grind which involved dodging, hitting a couple of times and so on. There is no parry option so your combos are constantly interrupted which can be annoying.

The story is actually quite interesting but it lets itself down with the writing/dialogue (extremely cliche and kind of cringey at times) and the developments in it sometimes feel very arbitrary and too-good-to-be-true.

My review sounds scathing but honestly the game does have its moments which I believe makes it worth it, but it is by no means a 'great' game. 6/10
