i always joke and say a game in which you can't fish is not a good game
so what does that say about a game completely about fishing?

in all honesty tho, this game is great, and definitely makes for a nice cozy evening
i expected a BIT more, since i was able to 100% it blind in just under 30 minutes
but it's short length is one of the aspects advertised on it's shop page so i can't say i got ripped off or anything
and i still had a lot of fun, breathing in the atmosphere, having fun with the main objective, the fishes, but also with going around, exploring, finding the secrets
it's great, and not only makes for a nice and wholesome first playthrough, but due to it's length it should also be very replayable, maybe for speedruns, even 100% speedruns are super quick, so you're definitely gonna get your money's worth

(for real tho the things that this game does, are things that only this and i mean ONLY this game could pull off.
and i'm glad it pulled these things off.)

This game is an experience from front to back.
From the nostalgic graphics, over the charming dialogue, to just all of the stuff you can do and find. There is so much to do and so much to see, that i can't even describe how much i loved playing this.
But the best thing about it is that you can discover everything entirely at your own pace. The world of this game, while not overwhelming for a first playthrough, is ENTIRELY open right from the start, so once you mastered the movement you can just go anywhere, anytime, pretty much. As long as you have enough golden feathers.
What i'm trying to say is that i definitely recommend this game to anyone who is in need of a nice, wholesome evening. You can take your time and 100% the game (which i had a blast at, took me about 4 hours, i played the DRM free version from the Humble Trove first before deciding to buy it, that's why my playtime may not me aligned) but you could just end your journey at any point, and at any point go back anywhere.
And after you completed every achievement you should have enough knowledge about the Game to easily speedrun to the top within 15 minutes on a new savefile. And probably even less than 5 minutes with a bit of practice, i haven't looked at the speedrun times yet.
So this game not only makes for a really wholesome evening, but it also doubles as a super sick speedrun game. The only other game i can really say this about with as much confidence is A Hat in Time, which is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time so...
Also since this game is way shorter, getting into it, be it casual or with seedrunning, is way less of a time investment. Whether that is good or bad is up to debate but personally i really dislike spending 2h on a run and then dismissing it because of one slipped thumb or something. Spending 5 minutes of the same strategic and motoric precision is way more reasonable in my opinion. But i digress.
If you think i talked about the speedrunning aspect of it too much, that's because of how unquantifiably awesome the experience of playing it to 100% first was. That's how good it is. So good that i don't even want to choose words for it, in fear of "spoiling" these emotions.
