It would be great if it worked, but it doesn't. It's not just the incessant crashing, it's also save files corrupting and buttons disappearing WHILE PLAYING. I have played most AGEOD games out there but this is the only one that gave me such issues.

It's a shame, if it worked it would blow games like March of the Eagles out of the water.

Spare yourself the disappointment and money.

I dont often agree with Creative Assembly, and I dont often agree with AGEOD, but I get along with everybody, but I say this every night, every day, every afternoon, and it's so true: MotE is a mess, MotE is a waste, MotE is a big fat mess.

UPDATE: The ship modules bug has FINALLY been fixed, a couple days short of a full YEAR after the release of this DLC. I guess I can finally give this one a thumbs up. Still, only worth it when it has a considerable discount!

Other content is... fine. The Focus Trees for Mexico and the Netherlands are fine (although AI Mexico can very easily mess their country up if not on historical focus), the music is lacklustre (although of course tastes will vary). Alternate History paths for USA and UK are allright, but again, the AI has trouble properly handling them.

Get it if you're interested in Mexican/Dutch content or just want to do another US Civil War in the WW2 era. Don't bother if you want proper naval content!

Great RTS with a very realistic feel; graphics, sounds and gameplay are top notch. The setting, Operation Bagration in 1944, is well chosen, as it was a very important (but generally not well known) campaign with interesting battles and units involved.

The game started without a functioning tutorial, but this has since been added anyway; it is certainly no luxury with a rather complex game like this!

If you've played WW2 RTS games before the battles themselves should be relatively straightforward though; veterans of the Close Combat series will feel right at home! The biggest difference is the battles being made up of three phases.
The battlegroup composer is a bit trickier; I recommend to use the "auto-fill" feature and subsequently changing things up to personal preference. It's best to try out your battlegroups against the AI, that way you can get a better feel for the things you want to change up (units you never use, units you need more of at an earlier phase, etc.). If you want a unit to be availabe during an earlier phase, or if you want it to be on higher veterancy, you can't field as much as them otherwise though!

Recommended for WW2 strategy entusiasts.

Lead and manage a platoon of distinctive soldiers, all with their own personalities, preferences and quirks, in an anime version of World War 2. Very similar to Valkyria Chronicles 1, but with some big improvements; if you liked it, you'll probably love this one. The events of this game take place around the same time as the first game, but Valkyria Chronicles 4 does a good job at introducing this world to its players so you can jump right into this game series with this one.

For those wondering, Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 aren't required at all to properly get the "whole story", since the 2nd game is set a while after the first one (and consequently after 4 as well) and the 3rd game (which only came out on the PSP and in Japan(ese), SEGA please remaster it to print money) features a different unit during the events of the 1st (and 4th) games and isn't really connected to Valkyria Chronicles 4's story.

Game of the Year 2018 for me.

It's quite underwhelming, they somehow manage to make the first tank battles in history look boring. I didn't expect multiple stealth missions (as if there aren't enough of those already) in a tank mission pack, by the way! Also the voiceacting for the English missions in this DLC is almost as ridiculously bad as the voiceacting for the Russian DLC, although with the lines these people got it's hard to blame them for it really. Don't bother with this one, the French DLC is better.

Contains mostly annoying and tedious missions, as well as the worst voiceacting I have ever heard in my life. If they instead had hired Tommy Wiseau and just given him some lines to read it'd be much better than the otherwordly bad VA these missions have right now. Maybe the Russian version is better, who knows right?

Don't bother.
