There are a few performance issues like loading stutter and other things, but otherwise the game looks and feels good. If you like supermassive games, like Until Dawn and the Quarry, then this game is probably for you.
It has a pretty different feel in the story tone from those games, which is a nice change. It took me about 7 to 8 hours to best it..... but no one survived haha. It might be slightly longer if more of the people were alive.

I do have some small gripes here and there. There seems to be less playing than in their past games. Though, I do feel like the decisions you make generally have big changes in consequence and dialogue. Like, drastically different attitudes and content in dialogue based on your choice. At the end of the day though, most of those choices are still going to end up in similar places with exception of the last few chapters. Speaking of, the ending I got had a huge missed opportunity, but I can't discuss that without spoilers.

Overall, I highly recommend this game if you like this type of game. If you are a fan of dead by daylight, be aware, this isn't really going to play anything like it.

Great metroidvania

I wish I could give an in between yes and no.

The combat is fun, the open world is mediocre. The main missions suck for the first 25 hours. No joke, they are some of the worst missions in this game. Much of the side content can be interesting, but a lot of it is also generic types of quests. The pawn system is super hit or miss with AI. Need to get up that ledge? Well.... maybe they will help, but probably not.
I had huge issues with crashes that finally went away after the first patch. Performance was super subpar and I have a pretty high end system. Changing settings did not remedy this.

The end of the game was pretty good... I think.
It is just a really uneven experience. Overall, I would recommend this to people who are looking for a big open world game set in a classic fantasy setting with some weird surprises here and there.

Super excited to see this game grow. Yes, it is very derivative and basically rips off some other games, but they did a good job and the mix of elements is really fun. highly suggest it for the price.

This game was amazing, but it did have some major flaws. It is way too long if you do everything, which is good and bad depending on you, but I hit a wall at a certain point.
Act 3, as of now, is still really messy.
That being said, this was a gaming experience my wife and I will possibly remember for the rest of our lives. Despite it's flaws, I greatly enjoyed this game and only got ready to be done in the last maybe... 15 hours of the 200 plus I played.

If you liked the original dead space, this is an even better version of that with good graphics and interesting additions to gameplay. If you have never played Dead Space, then this is an absolute must play of any horror game fan. It is a much more serious game than something like Resident Evil 4 remake if you are coming from that. It is also much scarier. I highly recommend it.

I have only played just a little, mostly just to check it out. It is portal. I didn't see anything majorly changed so far except the obvious path tracing, which is very cool. I run a 3080 and it ran at a very consistent frame rate. I didn't measure, but I would guess the 30's and 40's. No stutter, but it did crash.

I have an RTX 3080 and I can't hit above 50 frames at 1440p unless I scale back graphics massively. FSR did not improve FPS at all. I turned off motion blur as someone said it helped with stuttering... which was true, but doesn't do enough as it still stutters frequently with VRR enabled even. I tried raytracing effects at first and disabled them after getting 46fps in the benchmark... I gained an entire 4 fps from turning off raytracing. I really wanted to enjoy this game but it really looks as though this game needs another year of optimization. I can run Cyberpunk with psycho raytracing at 1440p better than this game and it is open world! Definitely wait on your purchase. If anyone reads this for some reason and knows something about a setting that fixes everything like magic, please comment and I will give it a shot. I will change the review once I am able to play through it at reasonable performance.

Very short but high quality.

Left 4 Dead with more depth. If you like Left 4 Dead, you should definitely give this game a try.
