I've played KSP for over a decade at this point. These games have been with me through college, moving into a real home, starting a family. I love these games. I've spent thousands of hours in KSP1 in its various forms, on and off of steam. KSP2's launch was bad, straight up. But I'd held out hope and then this last large update fixed a ton of what I had problems with. It wasn't complete but I could enjoy it and mod it.

None of that matters because Take-Two fired everyone involved. Check in every once in a while, I guess. Maybe they'll release a feature update at some point.

This is one of my favorite city/nation builders out there, BUT let me get this out of the way- This game can be rough and unwieldy for the following reasons
1. Terrible roads. If you want Cities: Skylines style building, this is going to drive you nuts (Its taken me ten hours to get comfortable with the system.) Roads won't want to be built. Sometimes using the leveling feature for the roads will still not allow you to use a road. The devs know this, and suggest using "wireframe" mode for the terrain so you can see where roads can be placed. This still really sucks.
2. No tutorial. This is easily remedied as there are really great youtubers making videos about this game
3. Wonky building placement. Sometimes you can level terrain to place a building, sometimes it just won't let you.
4. Russia Jank. Think about all the slight "off-ness" you get from Stalker, now put it in a city builder. Charming to some, frustrating to others.

All of that being said, this game whips. Its an in-depth economy management system for an entire nation. The economy management in this game rightly makes Cities: Skylines look like baby mode. Your citizens have needs, but providing them with those needs doesn't begin and end at "Are they close to a store and do they have a vague electricity blob on their home." Here's how your first hour will go.
1. Your people need electricity, so you put down a coal power plant
2. Ah, dang. Imported coal is expensive. I'll make a coal mine
3. Hmm, you can't burn unrefined coal. I'll make a coal refinery
4. Alright, now I have to supply the refinery with raw coal, and the power plant with refined coal. I'll use conveyor belts to connect everything
5. Well, damn. Only some of my citizens are able to walk to work. I'll give them some buses.
6. Alright they have a public transit system, but imported fuel is expensive. I'll have to find some oil.
7. Cool, I've repeated steps 1 through 4 at a different location and have made a new town that focuses on oil refining.
8. Imported food is expensive too, maybe I should look at farming...

This goes on for every single thing a person needs to function and be happy. You don't just have an "electronics factory" that makes electronic devices from raw materials. You have to have the basics first, then their refined forms, then their complete forms. Sometimes even more. Every step of the way, you're balancing import/export costs. Is it more advantageous to import certain materials and overproduce other materials for export? This always depends on how you've set up your nations supply chains. I've already had one self sufficient nation that, while somewhat poor, was never lacking in basic needs- and another massive oil exporting nation that was at the whims of the global market.

If you like city builders but Skylines is too easy, this is for you. If you like the economic aspect of 4x games, this is for you. Its still rough, it still needs a lot of work, but its the most fun I've had in a city builder.
