works pretty good. adds shortcuts to the steamdeck with artworks and can flawlessly run them without leaving the gaming mode.

the menu inside the app when selecting something from the games list is a bit buggy at scrolling though. However, everything is accessible and the app worth the 5-7€ if you want to integrate xbox gamepass comfortly. Keep in mind, it is still cloud gaming.

a bit late to the party, but anyways.

I can recommend this game as an easier soulslike. the outfits looking cool, composing my own character with weapons, gear and perks is fun. the attribute and perk system is not too deep and enables the player to focus more on actual gameplay and the individual playstyle than on making spreadsheets and/or theorycrafting, like it can be done in other big soulslike titles.
Though, I cant rate the story because I simply skipped it entirely. Just wanted a soulslike experience.

However, the biggest negative point IMO is the leveldesign. Man how often did I got lost there. It is really a pain point.

Plays good on steamdeck with some tweaks and actually is looking okayish. Medium/High Settings with reduced fps/hz.

positive:
- story has its highs
- great level design
- good graphics
- great atmosphere
- good voice acting
- combat style is individually adaptable
- choices
- ultrawide support

cons:
- most of the time you run from a to b collecting something
- city mystery quests are tedious and boring
- combat loop is very repetetive
- after some time the game can feel like a chore
- combat is a bit too easy for my taste
- performance is 0/10. without DLSS a 4080 wont hit 60 fps constantly @UWQHD

nevertheless i am going to finish the game. I doubt I will start a second playthrough. for maximum 20€ this game is acceptable.

Steam cloud save for offline characters doesnt work if you started on PC and want to continue on steamdeck. During launch the dev advertised using offline mode though because of online server issues.

controller support sucks. the campaign is a chore. the mechanics need some time to be fully understand.
after level ~40 (around 6hrs) the game starts to actually become fun enough.

It is a typical fromsoftware / Dark souls game. Gameplay is good and you will encounter the typical flow and mapdesign.

Technically, this game is a mess. Framedrops, HDR implementation insufficient, no widescreen, performancenightmare for RT, clunky controls, inputlags. Some would say they are used to it and all of this belongs to the overall experience. Fine, but not for me.

Beside the technical flaws, it is a typical openworld with its pros and cons like you've seen before. A good world with repetetive dungeons.

During my gameexperience from about 15hours, I've had several bugs:
- if you kill an enemy and this enemy also kills you, the souls from killing are not granted
- magic enemies sometimes shoot through the wall
- the camera is my personal endboss
- hits are going through the enemy model even though the enemy is not dodging

DS3 was way better IMHO.
