This honestly might have just replaced WoW for me. Feels far more like I'm not missing things just by not logging in, the class system is AMAZING, and generally it just has a great feel to it, even if I've only just scratched the surface.

I'm honestly not sure what I can say about this that people don't already know, but I'll try anyway, because if nothing else there's a couple points I want to touch on that I don't see mentioned a lot.

For starters, Garry's Mod (or GMod, as it's commonly known) is one of, if not essentially the definitive sandbox game, managing to be even more open-ended than even Minecraft and games of a similar natures. People are constantly developing new gametypes, but there's old standbys like Murder, Prop Hunt, and Trouble in Terrorist Town, which are all fun in their own right. I can't possibly do them justice, so please look up Let's Plays of them online, they'll give you a much better picture of what it's like.

With that said, GMod comes with a glaring flaw, depending on your budget and gaming tastes. Since it operates under the Source engine, most of its resources are borrowed from installed copies of other Source games, primarily Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source. This in itself isn't a problem, but when you take into account that most public servers use assets from these two games, you'll run into a lot of occasions where you're missing textures and models if you don't own them, which makes the game unplayable. There are two ways to deal with this that don't involve buying the games (They're not restrictively expensive, but they're also not necessarily everyone's cup of tea, and it's a bit much to pay $40 to get a $10 to function properly) - #1 is to only play servers that you have the right resources for, and #2 is to use Family Sharing to install a friend's copies of the game. GMod recognizes this as legit (as opposed to downloaded resource packs, which it ignores as of a recent patch), and as far as I'm aware the creators aren't in a rush to patch it out. This may change though, so keep in mind the date of this review if you read this in the future; as of posting, it works perfectly.

All in all, GMod is a very enjoyable game, it's just up to you how you want to experience it.

Have you played GMod Murder? Ever wish it was on a boat and EVERYONE was the killer? Then The Ship is the game for you! All in all this game is really good fun, perfect for a group of friends, or you could always just find a normal server to play on. It's got a bit of a learning curve to it, but a tutorial (which unfortunately is a standalone program) is included to help get you playing without too much confusion.

A good hybrid rhythm/platformer game. Play it on the hardest difficulty for the most rewarding experience, but prepare to rage once or twice when you miss the level by a jump.

Good times all around. There isn't the same elitism that comes with other MMOs, this one's just for fun!
