That said, if I had to guess, Hotline Miami 2's levels and overall accessibility were much cleaner and easier to read. Most levels didn't have a constant vibration, rainbow of colors, or very low visibility.
In fact, thinking about it, there was a lot more memorable scenes in 2 than in 1, so that's probably why I walked away from it with a nicer opinion. Hotline Miami 1 feels like a bit of a blur in my mind (not really ironic, given the entire theme of the game).
These are just my opinions though.
I believe it was revolutionary for it's time but when it comes score/combo based games there are so many others that respect your time and only rely on tough patterns for witch your reactions need to be spot on all the time.
That being said, how the fuck do you like Hotline Miami 2 more?! Everything you said here applies to that game and it's 3 times worse
However, for the record. At the time of your comment, you bought the game today(Dec 26), played for 30 minutes, wrote a positive review, then played another 3 1/2 hours. You have not completed the main story. You wrote your review after completing 1 achievement. I guess what I'm trying to say is... well, I guess there isn't any more to say.
Enjoy Hotline Miami 2, I personally liked it a lot more than the first.
