I learned how to be an efficient lumberjack in this game! 10/10

Eternights.. where do I start, the game I originally called a bootleg Persona turned out to be overall a fun time, with many good aspects going for it, but with some expected downsides and jank.

In short this game is about a group of teenagers/young adults trying to save the world from being destroyed while learning more about themselves and what they truly want from life.
Many of the characters need to face their past and fight for the future with their heads up and we as the MC are here on a ride with them.

(I wasn't going to make a review at first, but the Dev post about this game and its development, made me want to rethink my choice and add my feedback.)

And now (no spoilers)

The good -

Characters - This is a definite strong aspect of the game, each character has their charm attached with relative good character writing/development, I haven't found anyone I disliked or someone that I couldn't understand where they are coming from, it very much hit that scratch for a recovering Persona addict in a much shorter factor.

Story - Although it wasn't anything groundbreaking and the ending was a somewhat expected turnaround, it was decently paced with emotional key notes here and there, each character brought in a new view of the story with how the entire situation affected them and their personal stories were the strongest aspect of the game.

Voice Acting - To be fair, this elevated the two point above A LOT both characters and story are fine on their own, but the good voice acting (I played with English VO and a bit of Japanese) really cemented it. Most lines are voiced, but not all, the lines that are not voiced are usually filler conversations during the passing days or dialogue after doing extra activities with your confidants. Overall a very good effort here as well.

Story animations - They were short and sweet, but made with good quality, I would definitely would love to see more of them, but I am happy with what we got.

The Decent -

Gameplay - For me gameplay was alright, there was jank but it was playable jank. Combat itself is fine and easy to understand and master, but eventually you get in a very monotonous cycle (The final fight was for the most part just annoying) Early on you mostly try to perfect dodge, do your basic combo, fill the bar and do your QTE, later on you unlock more skills and abilities that allow you to be more aggressive and it makes the combat cycle a bit more fun.

Character Design/Animations - Nothing crazy here again, but it worked well for what it wanted to achieve with its characters. Animations were often similar, and the QTE animations got stale quickly.

Music - It did what it had to, didn't blow me away, it was played where it was needed. All the Yuna tracks were a very nice touch and the ending song was a joy to listen to.

The Bad -

UI - It does not ruin the game, but the UI could be a little better and more responsive, especially while trying to save or load your progress. I will add that I was experiencing controller delay issues in this game, I would click on something and it would take it a few moments to realise, I played both on M+K and the controller, and overall the controller even with the delay was more enjoyable to use.

I had fun with this game, I will come back to 100% it later via NG+ but for now I am satisfied with what we have received from this game. Also huge props to the Dev, I heard that it was basically a single dev effort and the credits very much showcased how much work the Dev put into this game. I hope that the good aspects that really made this game work get expanded on in future projects!

Hey, its a good Ubisoft game... thats a suprise

This game is like the worst experience ever it sucks

In my honest opinion I found this dlc to be more rewarding story wise than the main game, maybe because I'm a Clapy lover but thats beside the point of this dlc being great!

Game is overall fun but games can get really one sided which makes the experience of the game much worse

Its good if you are a Diablo 3 Fan and you are looking for something new more fresh. For me its a bit too dark and the Passive tree overwhelms me xD

You gotta love the Nekos

This is a really good game! I love the voice acting, character desing and the whole town of Arcadia Bay!
I recommend everyone to at least try EP1 and then think of buying the rest of EP, Can't wait for the next EP to come out! :D
UPDATE : after playing EP 4 I love this game even more , the story is really good, it makes you think of the amount of detail one person can miss and makes you think about your actions.

This game is amazing , it looks amazing , I just love it :D it's Really good ,worth the price , Im especialy happy as I got it in the Humble Bundle!
