Instead of buying this game, go get Saint's Row, it's cheaper.

I used to really enjoy this game when it first came out. Running around with friends being general delinquents and making money and modding cars. You can't do this anymore. Rockstart has put such a high premium on all of its recent DLCs and vehicles in a blatant effort to drive up Shark card sales that the game is no longer fun. The game actually became more fun for a while just stealing a random car and upgrading it just to see what it would do. I wish Rockstar would have let you steal higher value vehicles that spawned randomly seeing as how rare they were, but again, Shark cards.

The game now requires you do sacrifice your first born child, 15 virgins, own a CEO business, biker club, own an arena, own a terrabyte, and buy all of the overpriced weapons they add just to make it safe to enter a public lobby where the try-hards reside. Because the best way to keep a low profile as a career criminal is becoming a CEO and plastering your face all over TV in an arena war while flying around through the city on a flying motorcycle or a flying Delorian. If you don't do any of this you are going to receive a phone call every two minutes telling you that you need to buy these things to do jobs you don't care about.

Let's not forget that Rockstar will ban your account at the drop of a hat for something you have no control over and make you out to be the bad guy while shrugging their shoulders and saying there is nothing they can do and it's not their problem. There are people getting banned from the game for literally using the game mechanics that Rockstar themselves have added to the game in smart and creative ways.

This game has gone so far off the rails that you can't even tell what it used to be anymore. I've logged close to 1500 hours in the game since it came out on console and have watched its decline. This game was great when it came out, but there is no way in hell I would pay $30 for it now. The most I would pay is $10 and forgo any Shark card purchases.

Edit: After going and looking into their other game it looks like it is a copy paste into this game with a majority of their assets removed and a worse fligh dynamic.

Played the game for about two hours and there are a lot of things that irk me.

After reading the other peoples reviews, I decided not to use my oculus, I figured it would just be easier that way.

The game is very Japan biased, to the point where there is really no reason to play as America.

The AI is weird. Why is all of the AI an enemy even if it flies the same plane as you? Why is all the AI in better planes than you? Why is it that when an AI collides with you, you die instantly but they keep flying? This happened twice to me is by far the biggest bug I encountered.

The game is terribly optimised. I couldn't figure out why my GPU fans were blasting until I looked over and saw them running at 87*C. I then noticed that this game only uses a single processor core. ONE. AT MAX USAGE. What the hell is this? I've seen elementary school kids who make better optimised games than this!

It looked like the game was running in 480p but they stretched it out to fit a 1080p screen. The graphics themselves looked like a game from the 90s, the horizon was green... GREEN! WTF?!
and also why are there lense flares for BULLET HITS of all things?! My eyeball is not a camera why do I even need lense flare?!

There was some weird issue with the pilot's model where the arms kept popping up in front of me while I was shooting. I couldn't find the setting to turn off the pilot model amongst the garbage UI

The User interface was terrible and I couldn't adjust the obnoxious menu volume at all. Most of the settings were unclear in their function or what changing them would do to the game.

The only saving grace of this game is that it's free to play, but the fact that they are asking for money is laughable

Early Access Review
I've played this game for about an hour now, got mauled by a Jaguar while trying to figure out how to play the game. 10/10 would get mauled again.
