The Last Hope: Zombie Defense TD is a fairly competent and standard, zombie-themed TD game. The 4 main tower types are pretty much similar to Kingdom Rush - there's an archery tower; a "barracks" that will spawn troops (3 of them) to try to halt the progress of the zombies; a mage tower for some reason (this is supposed to be a post-apocalyptic themed game though, right?), and a "mortar"-style area-of-attack tower.

However, you should know that there are limited fixed positions around the map where you can build your towers on in this game, so the strategy here mainly involves placing the right towers in the right building plots.

All towers are upgradeable in-game once you've purchased the corresponding upgrades outside a level using gems. You can get up to 3 gems per level depending on how well you protected your barricade. In-game upgrades cost money and you can get them by killing zombies. You can always call waves to come ahead of time for some extra cash as well.

Unlike the TDs I've played, there are only two active skills that you can use. The lack of variety is compensated by the fact that using these skills is free. There's just a cooldown involved, so use them as often as you can!

Pros
+ 4 unique towers to use in your strategic plan to defend your barricade. Each of them can be upgraded
+ Has a simple yet sufficient tower upgrade tree
+ 2 very helpful skills to use - the dynamite and the blockade
+ From time to time, there are extra assistance provided, such as in the form of a NPC sniper hiding among the trees.
+ Graphics look hand-drawn, which is pretty cool. Has that Kingdom Rush vibe to it but it definitely feels a bit darker (sometimes literally).
+ Varied maps featuring different times of the day
+ Has an endless mode
+ Very low price tag

Cons/Feedback
- Clearly show where the zombies will be coming from. There are times when only one of the path is marked with the zombie icon, but the zombies came from the other lanes as well.
- Maybe one more speed-up option? A slightly faster one?
- Add an elite mode? Some TDs I've played offer a fourth star to be earned if the player managed to get all 3 stars for a level. Not sure if this will mess up the upgrade tree though.
- More skills maybe? Like a skill to slow down zombies? Those dynamite-strapped suicide zombies run kinda fast.
- Most of the time, I ended up with way too much cash and having nothing to spend them on.

Overall
Although it doesn't offer a particularly refreshing look to genre, this game is still able to offer a fun TD experience. After all, not every game has to be innovative to be worth playing... says me, someone who has played the exact same "formula" of deck-building roguelikes for a long time now and still love every moment of it. So, if you prefer grabbing a standard TD game to whittle your idle time away with, The Last Hope: Zombie Defense TD is a pretty solid choice, especially considering it's incredibly low price tag!
