The kitchen expansion overall is great, loads of customisation options, lots of activities, good angles, very cosy, its good!

One disappointing thing however is that almost all of the new spirit companions are just lazy re-hashes of existing ones.

I saw the negative reviews when this came out, so I waited a few months before purchasing to give the devs a chance to iron out the issues.

Bought it today, and it is still largely unplayable... The first job in the DLC is clunky and fails to recognise when you place some items despite not giving you any indication that they need to be placed in a specific place, and the first time I tried to use the construction tool to build a simple square structure, the game essentially soft locked and I had to alt+f4 to exit the game.

I have no idea how it can still be this broken after this length of time... I dread to think what it was like to begin with!

On top of that it also caused issues with my existing game, such as suddenly being unable to turn lights on and off or interact with some items... Just shocking.

I've played 90 hours of this game and there is still a lot to it which I haven't done.
I feel like I'm the only player who is older than about 14 though for some reason, judging by the community!

Adding easy anti cheat despite the community backlash was a terrible decision and might be the end of this platform unless the decision is reversed.

This isn't just quality of life mods which are no longer allowed (and should be, because a lot of very simple things are completely missing from the experience, making it tedious without mods), but also accessibility mods.

People with visual or hearing impairment are no longer able to use mods which make the game usable for them, they can no longer use this platform to spend time with their friends, and some of those people were kicked from the official discord for expressing their concerns. This is unacceptable.

These issues aside, the latest implementation is horrible, and verified VR apps for launching the application are having issues, people are seeing errors left and right.

Roll it back or watch it crumble.

Update 26 04 2023:

They have since added some of the accessibility features they removed access to by disabling mods, but not all of them. The experience is still vastly inferior to when mods were available. But it is a slight improvement. The community has adapted around some of the issues the update caused.

Its just, good.
