Incredibly fun party game that presents a challenge for seasoned platformer enjoyers, but also provides a charming atmosphere for those just looking to have fun.

Best Original Mod I've seen on any game ever? This mod adds so much content, it's actually unbelievable

If you like RPGs and Idle games, this game is definitely for you. It mixes both genres in a new way that is unlike any other game.

My favorite part about this game is how it employs the concept of "secrets". Instead of easter eggs, the game is littered with hidden synergies between items and cards, leading to new ways of playing.

If you don't immediately like this game, I would say to give it a chance. A game like this can't be as beloved as it is without having something up its sleeve. If it doesn't immediately entice you, give it a little bit.

The best resource management game to get into the genre in my opinion. Very easy to pick up, and difficult to put down. This game does an extremely good job at introducing concepts one at a time, and in interesting ways. Unlike other resource management games that require players to learn 15+ different complex mechanics in the first turn, Slipways' design lends itself to a more modular experiential approach.

Even for advanced players, Slipways is truly unique. With limitless ways of instituting different "challenge modes", I really feel like I need to play differently, and think about my moves, up until the later stages of the game.

Slipways is TRULY the whole package. If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, I'd recommend it.

One of a kind strategy game that is superior both in terms of gameplay mechanics and story to most other games like it. The story is worth it if you think that you can handle some of the more difficult parts of the game. Trust me... It's more than just a Slay-the-Spire copy. I can't say anything more because I don't want to spoil the game... but omg.... <3 <3 <3

Celeste is a platformer that requires quick critical thinking without the pixel perfect jumps and punishing deaths is what makes this game unique among all the others that seem unable to do this anywhere near as well as Celeste. This game is in my opinion the best platformer. Not just the best one that I've ever played, but simply the best. I know that sounds a little overzealous to someone who might not have played it, but I assure you, if you want to play a platformer, this is it. With the seemingly simplest base mechanics of dash, jump, climb, and move, the developer of this game has perfected exactly what the genre wants to present. Somehow this game makes sure that no particular level is impossibly difficult. They strive to make it clear that if a particular section seems out of reach, it's simply because you're not thinking of it the right way, while making those extremely difficult jumps entirely possible, in order to reward the players that are able to detect when they can find a sneaky work-around to make it quickly through the stage. The game also offers abundant easter eggs of all sorts that require mastery of the controls, a keen eye for detail, or even reference other platforming masterpieces, I feel like it would have a place in the heart of anyone who's up for the challenge of getting that extra red strawberry. I say all of this without even mentioning one of the main reasons this game is so beautiful. The story. You'll have to play it to really appreciate the journey of young Madeline climbing the mystical Mount Celeste. She begins her journey with the simple goal to climb the mountain, only to realize that the journey itself is a metaphor for her inner struggles with her emotions, friends, and relationships. The themes of the game are worked into not only the dialogue and artistic choices, but even the level design.

With every little piece working together in this game to absolute perfection and attention to detail that I can't even express, I would struggle to find a better platformer. This game will always have a place in my heart.

Though the game has a very simple main mechanic, the structure in non-linearity of it really makes it stand out as an artistically beautiful game. Very rarely does any game really display beautiful design, and this is one of those rare examples.

I found this game was really well developed. It's rare to find a game that is simultaneously very fun to play, and is considered beautiful in an artistic way.

Somehow this game still lags on my i7 processor. I lose because of it. I know that sounds like, someone who blames their losses on the lag, and yes, but if it were just that, I wouldn't be posting a negative review. What really surprises me about this game is that it's been out for so long, and it gets updated so often, yet the game still isn't balanced. They must have tried really hard to ensure that some characters were better than others, because that's the only way it could possibly be this bad given how long the game has been out. Every single update to the best of my knowledge has only added new skins, which are all things you have to pay for with real money if you don't want to spend 600 hours on this game.

The servers for this game have greatly improved since I last gave a review. I really enjoy this game and recommend it to anyone looking for a party game to play with friends, especially during quarantine.
