I have probably have over 1000 hours total across different platforms. Like most, I grind for 2 months then come back to keep going. But the jump between Whisper in the walls to Old Peace was just too much. There is too much content to relearn when I want to come back. The old systems come back quick, but there is just so much going on that it has become incomprehensible to a RETURNING player. I'm amazed by anyone who can play anything other than this at any given time. I could've recommended this game in the past, but not anymore. I would love some kind of Warframe 2 as corny as it sounds.

Wildly overhyped. It only looks good compared to outdated BF4/BF1 and put up against the worst COD ever made. Pay $70 for albeit a pretty good looking destruction filled game, but with microtransaction popups and you die every 45 seconds. the moment to moment gunplay is really really good, but somehow someway they lost that close encounters (fun) feeling. BR is just warzone and I can't compete with the jobless. Maybe people like it, but I don't. The menus are trash for gun setups, battle pass, or the settings menu. It is virtually unintelligible. Not the worst game I've played, but no way is it worth SEVENTY dollars. I'd pay 40 if I really wanted a BF game.

"It's good. You already know that."

My faint few criticisms (SPOILERS):
Most choices have 0 effect on the story. Some of THOSE choices literally don't matter for the scene right after because the dialogue response is the same. Easiest example is the party scene. It doesn't matter what you pick for retrieving the pulse it all ends the same way. If you romance either option Invisigal still gets upset for Robert looking at Blazer even if you don't kiss her at the start or interact romantically (Blazer best girl btw).

I'm aware it s a debut game with fleshed out 3D scenes so i'm not expecting detroit become human levels of routes. However, I would've liked to see some variety in the endings. There is basically 1 ending with slight variety i.e. romance and kill/spare.

There were also quite a few bugs but nothing ubisoft level and they were patched within a week or so.

These are essentially nitpicks. The game is great.

Like Embarks other game, The Finals, there is a lot of innovation to love with a stunning world to immerse yourself in. While the extraction shooter genre is new for me I can still recognize how impactful the gameplay loop is for people. However, there is no real tangible reward for what you're willing to risk. as long as you have a level 4 ferro and blue looter augment you can do basically anything with no real consequences. Bringing advanced weapons or high level gear only makes getting shot in the back of the head extremely frustrating. The only time large amounts of risk are rewarding is if you take down a large arc, but it makes so much noise you'll just get shot trying to loot it.

The solo world was fun for 2 weeks before everyone started to shoot first ask questions later rather than the reverse. I'm aware that Embark didn't want to do PVE only, but i was having the most fun talking to strangers and killing arcs than anything else in the game. If you run into someone who knows how to shoot then you are just dead.

This game was almost disappointing to me as someone who left destiny years ago. Losing something because I was careless is one thing, but getting a cool item just to lose it to someone who waited for me to turn a corner is wildly unfun.

TLDR Not for me and I get it, I just wanted something slightly different that isn't so punishing with a permanently blurred PvPvE line. I wish there was a 3rd option between YES and NO for recommendation.

There is so much to love about the game. It is what very other shooter game isn't. But the matchmaking is GOD AWFUL. I returned for the first time in 2 years or so because of a "big new update" just to find the game is pretty much the same and I can't tell a difference. I stomped the first 3 games or so dropping almost 30 kills each and now i go negative almost every game unless i try my absolute best and use a maximized (not casual fun) loadout. I have never touched ranked but it's probably worse than this.

a free game so theres emphasis on microtransactions, but the prices are extreme. Even if you are free to play the grind is absurd and not even fun. with other grindy games theres some variety not just kill these 3 enemies every 5 minutes for a 20% drop then kill a boss for a 6% drop. Its boring. Like i said before its just not worth playing the gameplay is just unremarkable. I'd be playing The Final Shape right now if bungie hadnt been greedy for the last 5 years.
