Got 23 hours into the game as of this posting. This game can be as aggravating as it is fun, and really makes you think about what you're doing before you do it. You have a choice of 4 color schemes for each character (to help better tell one from another), and a wide variety of characters to choose from. There are 4 or 5 areas to explore, each with different ratios of enemies to fight.

Honestly, my only complaint is that higher-level characters can't do lower-level boss quests. I'm fine with them not wanting to do the lower-level regular quests, but the bosses are no joke in this game. It almost feels counterproductive to me to level your characters, gear them up, then turn around and not be able to use them in a boss fight.

Bought this game early in 2015, and have really enjoyed it since. Currently have 50 hours into it (due to a lot of on-and-off gameplay), and still have quests to finish and things to unlock. Combat is simple (swing, counter, stun, and dodge), game of chance is fun (Four cards shown, then flipped and mixed up. Follow a card, if you can, and pick one.), and Endless mode keeps the game going after you've beaten the story mode, or even if you decide you don't like the story mode for someodd reason.

Cannot recommend this game enough!

Got this game on sale for $3.49, but I would've paid full price for it. VERY good storyline, fun characters, and you can eventually mix and match your party to suit your playing style. Final boss fight was actually tough (I died the first time, but was successful the second). Even if you only beat it once, it's still worth the price.

Got almost 200 hours on record as of this posting. Beat the main storyline (went Railroad, since I disagreed with everything the Institute was doing, and I never was one for the "Do what I say, when I say" attitude of the Brotherhood of Steel). Ran completely vanilla, no mods whatsoever.

Pros:

4 factions that are very focused on their goals. The Minutemen want to rebuild the Commonwealth. The Brotherhood of Steel wants to eradicate synths and act in a military manner. The Institute is looking for ways to synthetically improve life. The Railroad wants to help synths who ran away from the Institute to seek a better life, by giving the synths new names and sometimes memory wiping them and giving them new memories.

Great NPC and follower interactions (none of the named NPCs feel "fake"). Followers have their own personalities (Piper is a complete smartass, and Valentine acts like a 1950s noir detective). Followers even give you a permanent perk when you max out their disposition towards you, which can REALLY be helpful! As for the NPC interactions, I was actually stunned and saddened when one of the named NPCs died (not saying who, spoilers) towards the end of that faction's questline.

Graphics are pretty good, from the bodies of water to the head splatters when you kill someone. Never even saw a need for mods to improve them (not that I'm much of a modder in the first place).

Weapons and armor (for the most part) are VERY customizable. You can put scopes or sights on your weapons, as well as change clip sizes, barrels, and other things on your weapons. Even melee weapons can be modified and improved upon. As for armor, there's a ton of options as well. Want to carry more? Go Pocketed or Deep Pocketed. Worried about radiation? Go Leaded.

Cons:

Once you beat the main questline for one of the three factions, you mainly get repetitive, radiant quests from them. Two factions no longer give quests, because you destroyed them. I'd rather have a continuing storyline than radiant quests.

Not all armor is customizable. Most of the full-body armors, such as the Courser Outfit or Kellogg's Outfit, can not be improved upon at all. A shame, since those outfits look badass, but I suppose you could always put them on a follower.

Spawn points for raids upon your settlements seem off. I was in Sanctuary Grove once, and had Ghouls spawn almost in the middle of town, past all of my defenses. Raiding spawn points should be moved outside of settlements.

Summary:

Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, and there's enough side quests to keep me busy for a while. I do hope there will be DLC to add to Fallout 4 (Bethesda usually does, after all), but for now, I'm happy with what I have.

Very fun game, whether played with friends online, friends at home, or even against the computer. No difficulty settings, but you can play against as many computer players as you wish (I recommend 2 CPUs if playing solo). You can even play it offline, so if you're going somewhere with no internet connection, no problems!
