As someone who spent hours in Hollow Knight, Skong kicks my ass in ways the first could never. 10/10, Team Cherry has cooked and I am cooked in Greymoor.

Early Access Review
I endured pure torment playing this game on Brutal for my first time with only a touchpad. My masochistic ass loved this, pure ADHD uncontained and I adore the soundtrack. 11/10, will bang the twink angel once more.

Y'know, I think I'm finally getting a swing of things. I'm somewhat invested now.

A rather short but "sweet", albeit gruesome, game. It took me just under seven hours to 100% the game, but each hour was quite satisfying and enjoyable. The reason I was originally so drawn to this was for the pixel graphics, which is by far my most preferred artstyle for any game. Pair that with the fairly impressive gore effects of watching humans being torn in half, eaten alive, or having their skull and spine ripped out of their torsos, and it can satiate that dark desire of watching fictional violence. And the designs of this game have truly amazed me as well, from the creature's writhing mass to the variety of different areas and levels. The story is somewhat present, but it's obvious the main focus of the game is to be a big, scary monster that mutilates its victims and solves sometimes challenging puzzles. And the sound design, gods, the sound design. Hearing the player growl in order to taunt their victims and causing them to either sob or tense up is such a great detail that adds so much to the feeling of this remorseless beast. And the music, it may not be my favourite of any game, but it definitely helps set up the scene and push the feeling of tenseness and fear of not the player, but the poor people we are hunting down.

Overall, while it's a pretty quick play, I really do recommend this to anyone who's a fan of reverse-horror, pixilated violence, puzzles, or who just have the spare money and wanna try something new.

Honestly? This is my first ever game of the genre, and lemme tell ya how much of a grand experience I have had with this game.

First of all, I'm a massive Warhammer nerd and am especially happy to see something on the fantasy side, considering that 40k has had no shortage of its own hits in recent years. And as a first-time player of any Total War game, this has most certainly piqued my interest in the rest of the franchise. Battles feel exciting and can be as challenging as you want them to be, with three different difficulty modifiers to help you find just what suits your playstyle the best, and the various models for all the units and lords in this game can be very immaculate. And don't get me started on just how many different ways there are to play the game. With almost every notable race and faction present in this game, you are certain to find a familiar face or hear a renowned name as a Warhammer fan. You want to play a straightforward and relatively simple campaign? Try the Greenskins or Khorne, who's entire goal is to just overpower the enemy with brute force. Want a more safe playstyle while keeping away from your opponent and rain hell from afar? Try Wood Elves or Cathay with their impressive ranged units that are nigh unmatched. Want to harness the Winds and devastate the frontlines with a myriad of spells? Try Tzeentch or the High Elves who have access to rather impressive arsenals of arcane arts. How about shatter both the enemy's morale and bodies? Then you'll love the monsters from the Lizardmen and Dark Elves, terrifying the weak links and slaughtering those who still stand. I could continue on and on, but this game has left a great impression on me and what already has incredibly replayability has been further enhanced by the dedicated and active modding community, so I'll leave it at that.

TLDR: Lotsa cool factions and really fun game for any Warhammer nerd such as I.
