I want to mention that I have well over 10,000 hours in this game as I play on the native client, and installed the Steam version purely to leave this review.

At the time of this review, and for the past three years I have been this games #1 highest viewed, most searched youtuber for this game. I have well over 650 videos covering the for solo guildless players, and I can attest from this amount of research and time spent playing the game that you're better off playing something else and not wasting your time with this one.

This Kickstarter Unity game has a problem with devs and game master meddling, where they pick favorites (twitch streamers) and give them far more privilege than the regular person. These specific streamers can and will phone up a game master at 2am to have you banned for a week for PvP'ing them in a PvP server. Even if it's in self defense you're still screwed if you try to fight these streamers.

Imagine you flag up for PvP in a yellow zone. An area where you can fight other players and not lose gear. You come across a streamer in much weaker gear, so you decide to punish them for going out in such a weak set. So you down them, you move on your merry way. Later you enter a dungeon that they're doing, and dungeons in this game are "open to the public" meaning you can enter other peoples dungeons and steal the mobs or even flag up and beat them up inside the dungeon. So instead of fighting the streamer, you decide to kill some mobs in the hopes that maybe they just invite you to their party. So instead the streamer and their entire guild flag up to fight and remove you from the dungeon. You fight back, get beat up, then call in some help of your own to fight the streamer back to contest the dungeon, right? So you beat 'em up a few times, feel sorry for the streamer, and leave.

Apparently this is GROUNDS for a 1 week ban labeled as "harassment." That's right, you heard me correctly. This games company is willing to 1 week ban its largest most active content creator on the grounds that they PvP'd one of their favorite little teachers-pet streamers a few times and caused them to lose about 15 minutes of time. Granted if this were not a streamer you could do this kind of PvP for hours dunking on as much people as you want without punishment, but if you dare touch Sandbox Interactive's pet streamers they will bring the hammer down on you. This basically makes the "elite" twitch streamers an untouchable privileged class within the game that can do whatever they want, get away with anything, and punish anyone they feel like as they have game masters on their discord friends lists at the ready to Thanos snap anyone that even stands near them on their screen out of existence.

These twitch streamers are all intertwined in discords and it's a massive unfair clique where if you aren't donating to the top dawgs you're not allowed to even be let into the partner program. The company states that they can deny anyone for any reason and give clear guidelines to be accepted into the content creator program (Where they get free premium and giveaway codes) but I always see creators with 30 views on a video and 15 twitch subscribers get in because they're best friends with one of the twitch streamers. These guys all "raid" each other on twitch passing around thousands of afk bot viewers who are only there to farm skin drops as rewards. Most of their chats are completely dead and have no actual activity. Of course SBI, the company of the game, decides who and who doesn't get drops, and no one's going to watch your twitch stream without drops enabled.

That's just one corrupted clique, but there are many more. The "cartel" is a group of mega neckbeards that spreadsheeted and solved the economy of the game using untouchable mega-defended hideouts with thousands of members that make them in-game trillionaires that no solo or even small scale grouped player can ever hope to achieve. This makes the entire crafting system (except food) basically pointless for 99.9% of the playerbase to pursue. If you somehow manage to card-swipe enough silver to afford a town plot, the cartel will mass craft junk items draining your food and crafting capacity till you bankrupt yourself in fees. This same cartel controls the taxes and prices of these crafting benches and furthers the divide between the rich and the poor.

This game in its current state is incredibly difficult to grind for silver compared to the old days. It's easier to fame farm up, but without a good stash of silver you hit a progression wall when it comes to auto respec, satchel costs, and leveling other pieces of equipment. Most players simply cannot afford to do anything in the game without using the cash shop to purchase gold to flip for silver to buy things, streamers included. Unless you played the game in the early days and cashed out on rare skins, or invested heavily into money-makers before they were ALL nerfed this recent patch, you're gonna be grinding for several months just to afford some serious sets of gear to do any kind of full loot activities, unless you sell your soul to a streamer or a slave guild, you're not going to be having fun.

Almost every group activity is gatekept, and even those publicly available (like faction warfare) is attempted to be gatekept by discord abusers who only let in who they like. Want to do hardcore expeditions? I hope you don't anger the Chinese lady or Swedish man that runs it, otherwise you get the boot. Want to do world bosses? Russian and Chinese guilds control them exclusively and demand a blood sacrifice and endless slaving to access. Perhaps you just want to PvP in zerg vs zerg? Sorry bucko, come back when you have 6 years and 5,000 confirmed kills, but hey you can still join and farm for the guild while six different discord bots scan your account to make sure you're actually working, and when you aren't have a nice chat with a taskmaster who'll scream at the top of his lungs at you for having the wrong helmet passive. This is every guild. The ones that don't do this have a passive tax that drain new players funds every time they loot silver off the ground.

This game is overly sensitive with its moderation. You can call someone a pre-school insult like a "chicken nugget" or a "hotdog" and get a mute for WEEKS. If you dare insult the mods or game masters as they plague the chat with their inane bullcrap you'll eat a perma-mute basically blocking everyone but e-celebs such as myself from doing anything in the game ever. Oh, and as far as speaking to players, the majority playerbase don't speak English as a first language, so I hope you're bilingual cause you're not gonna be able to communicate with most people. What kind of company perma-mutes its largest youtuber for calling a game master a "janny?" (Janitor for short. Someone who cleans up messes.) A very butt-hurt company, that's who.

PvP is a numbers game. Is your gear better than your opponents? Did you grind more? Do you have more friends than them? This game is insufferable to play solo. It can be done, but it's miserable. Go into any full loot zone not designed for solos and you get ganked by groups. Safety in numbers right? Want to do solo PvP? Mists are nothing but "rats" (people who use low tier gear and only attack higher tier players when they are heavily wounded) and corrupted dungeons is a rock/paper/scissors meta game against sweaty try-hard meta-slaves who only play the mathematical superior builds that tracker websites tell them to do.

What about the economy? If you don't have an API reading third party program to scan the markets and auto-spread sheet flips, you're screwed. If you don't do a mountain of math every time you want to refine or craft, you're screwed. If you just want to gather, it's possible to make some okay silver, on the West server. The East server was plagued with bots and cheaters and that economy is completely ruined.
