So played another few playthroughs, and now I've done that a few more times....

I'm a little more mixed then I was before. I will still recomend the game, as its story is one of the best and I do find it a little sad that people are struggling a bit to see that. The story, music and visuals are absolutely the best part of the game by far. It's incredibly well written and the music and visuals are absolutely stunning at every point in the game.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first playthrough, though on my later ones it lost alot of its charm. Some sections feel more like a walking simulator now I had seen the content before, and this is not the case for all of them. I won't detail for spoiler reasons, but some parts at the end of the game still hit hard for me despite seeing them again. However... there are alot of points where I just found it boring doing it again, and in my first playthrough they were the parts I enjoyed the least. The pacing does feel a bit odd, as many others will tell you as well.

The gameplay I am very mixed on. Several people are leaving negative reviews because it is turn based stratergy. I'm not going to penalise the game for that, because pokemon would then be one of the worst games of all time if you listened to these people. That being said, I don't think it is especially amazing, even for that. It's very much a great system with the skills and emotions you can unlock, but it doesn't do it for me.

The horror doesn't really work. There are some legitimately terrifying moments that still have charm to them even after the initial scare. However, don't buy the game for the horror. The themes are where most of that horror comes from.

I do believe that this game is very much worth a purchase on those amazing parts, however I will say this:
There is alot of things that people are saying about OMORI that do not make sense. There are alot that people say, that do make sense. The game is far from perfect, but the few bits that people seem to be latching onto are not the real problem. There are several criticisms I think are absolutely justified, and several that seem like the person has not played the game to completiton and could not get through it (which is a different issue entirely to what the review is tryingto argue).

And to everyone who doesn't like the combat of OMORI - I will leave you with one tadbit of advice to speed up the game by 10 hours while letting you solely focus on the story. Google: "Rotten milk exploit". Now go enjoy the story while leaving out the parts of the game we don't like the most.

Though this game is definately not what I would call a 'spooky scary ghost game is scary', it is definately one of the best of the ghost hunting genre. This game features lots of distinct ghosts and homages to them throughout the world. The way you find them and the behaviours of these ghosts changes based on how you play and what ghost it is. Starts slow, but ramps up in difficulty depending on your chosen difficulty. After you reach prestige 1 (yes, there is a good prestige system here), you can customise the game. Note that harder difficulties give higher rewards. Each ghost also has its own personality as generated each run, so no two ghosts are identicale, even if its a little buggy at times. Would recomend if you like difficulty, unique ghost hunting and a little bit of spooks.

A rundown of Terraria difficulties and what they say about you:
Journey mode: I feel like building or not playing the game
Classic mode: I'm new and want a nice experience
Expert mode: Classics to easy and you want a larger challenge before going into master
Master mode: Expert is too easy and you just need more.
For the Worthy: You like pain.
Getfixedboi: You are a sadist

Game has potential, though hitboxes are jank, cover is not taught to you at all same with everything else. Art style is fine, very much a teach yourself sort of game. Not particularly well designed and game went through almost no play testing, or at least plays like it. Would recomend if you are a masochist, otherwise don't even bother

This game is amazing. its art style and story are a blend of cute and horrifying. The gameplay is simple to understand and I almost never felt a sense of boredom throughout my first playthrough. Apart from one section at the end of the game, it had a wonderful sense of immersion and has brought joy to the past 2 months of my first playthrough. The game has lots of replayability which is always good. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
