Well they found a way to unfun free mode. Force time of day changes with no option to skip or disable. If you want to see the Island on your own terms, then be prepared to sit in you car and wait 50% of the time. Miserable,

TLDR: Overpriced for what it is, get it on sale.

This is a great Southern Gothic tale, inventive and fresh. Combat sucks though. But the graphics, scenes and music create an atmosphere that is superb - although you are just walking a corridor from one place to another.

I can't recommend it for so many reasons, but I can recommend for slightly more. Wait for the sale.

It's 20 years old. And plays better than most modern. Squint at the graphics if you must (you don't) and enjoy a real old school challenge. Too much fun.

Kinda fun in a sorta Disney sandbox way. While breaking heads.

Building is a bit frustrating (I'm looking at you stairs) when it keeps telling you that you cannot when there is no reason not to. Sometimes there is a reason stated. Usually not. After tearing everything down for the third time, I have something I kinda like. Prolly will tear it down again. That part is at least easy.

Progression looks straight forward but all the made-up stuff to utilize is not well explained if at all (who does these days) so its trial-by-error or progress-by-google. They have an internal wiki, maybe that will help those who like to read instead of play.

Honestly, the whole eat/drink/sanity meta is just annoying. You'll see what I mean.

And in the 12 hours played, I saw two actual players. So, private server for now.

Its free, good way to blow a rainy afternoon.

The sales blurb for this says nothing about renting the game. Yet, I apparently can no longer use the download to play. There is no off-line mode.

I suspect that Crew 2 and Motorfest have a similar fate instore.

Probably best to boycott UBIsoft in general.

It is really well made for the most part, and its a lot of arcade fun, but it doesn't look like it is really supported. Guess that's why I got it for eight bucks American.

I would recommend if they were doing upkeep, but stupid simple fixes are not addressed. Like the fact that if you want to get the achievement for a bridge picture in the fog, you have to set it to "sandstorm" Or if you want the most expensive car driving award, you have to drive a mid-ranged one that costs HALF the price of the most expensive. Stupid stuff like this will waste your time trying to finish this game. Seems like they don't care about supporting it. Kinda like the original one.

We'll see if things change, but I expect disappointment and abandonment.

You would think that after all these years, that an update would support a steering wheel. Apparently not. Uninstalled.

Great story, even better movie. Sound, visuals, gravitas. Pretty amazing really. And a brave and inventive way of telling a story in a game.

No game play however. What little clicking there is that is not walking around listening to endless exposition blurred audibly by constantly chattering head voices was enough to make me hate the game. Scream at my screen. Wish it was over when it was 1/3 of the way done. Hate the development of this at all because I had no choice in anything that happened. At all. Just a waste.

But if you want a good movie that lasts 7.4 hours ...

The reason I loved snowrunner was the puzzle aspect - figuiring out what to do; and the open world.

You get neither of these here.

The UI is better, has some neat tools. Graphics are super. All things they could have done in snowrunner. Feels like a land-grab in a way.

I you view it as NOT snowrunner-like, then sure - its good for running some missions. But then your done. I won't ever buy it for that. You might.

Def not recm'd for Snowrunner fans.
