CS:GO Review
Do you like firing from your hip all the time with most weapons? Do you like limited weapons selection? Round based gameplay? A competitive environment? Running faster with a knife?

And most importantly, the same rehashed gameplay we've come to expect from this franchise just with a few minor additions and updated graphics? If so, CS: GO is just for you!

Garry's Mod is the ultimate procrastination tool! This game is like the equivalent of a couple of blocks of lego, start waiting for you after you come home from school or work. There isn't a story nor are there characters, Garry's Mod (or Gmod as many would like to call it) is simply there to help your imagination run wild. And it does a bloody good job at that.

The whole game is a playground for machinima makers, for virtual builders and for people who just want to fool about. Community created servers and maps are rampant and the workshop allows for thousands of player created content to mount onto your system. Vocaloid character models, new weaponry, a plethora of horror maps and so on litter the workshop's contents; there is bound to be something of interest to you.

Now back to the lego reference I made above. Much like lego, Gmod lets players imaginations run wild. They are able to build whatever they want, do whatever they want (within the boundaries of the Half Life 2 engine or certain community server rules), load whatever player created content they want and so on. You can create your own stories, forge your own layouts for each map and even bring a friend or two in as company. Gmod is basically imagination land. Its the type of game where you can sit back, relax, grab a glass of soda and just enjoy yourself after a days worth of hard work.

Its escapism to the max but don't let it consume your life in the process. Moderation is the key here.

I kid you not when I say that Mirror's Edge is quite possibly one of the most prettiest video games out there. Its hard to believe a game like this from a couple of years ago still lives up to modern standards with its amazing art style and fantastic graphics. The game is vibrant and unique with good color choices such as red to stand in for objective markers.

The gameplay consists of fast paced parkour with a little bit of gunplay and combat as added flavor. The parkour is well design with Faith's movements being incredibly fluid given the engine. You see her hand and leg movements from first person as she leaps from rooftop to rooftop and gracefully scales ledges. Gunplay is rather weak but breaks up the parkour sections well to prevent the game from getting too repetitive. Pistols, shotguns, sniper rifles and assault rifles are examples of weapons you'll be able to wield. Hand to hand combat is also available and with good precision you'll be able to fluidly transition into gun combat after disarming a nearby opponent.

Sadly there is no multiplayer and the story is rather short. However for the first game in the series, it is able to ♥♥♥♥ all the right points and is worth a try for anybody looking for a parkour game.

Team Fortress 2 has changed considerably much throughout the years after the added microtransactions. However Valve's team based shooter still packs a punch with its fast paced gameplay, wacky humor and varied community created maps, modes and servers. Graphics are cartoony but contained a color palette and design choices that compliment the humorous mood TF2 has set for its world, its characters and its story. Its classes have a lot of personality and variance to them, with each individual character providing a different set of abilities and their own sense of quirks to the table.
