Still one of the best WW2 titles in recent memory. Get this instead of CoD WW2 or Battlefield 5

Looking how at the time of writing there is a 5 year anniversary even taking place, it feels appropriate to a review for this game.
Payday 2 is a cooperative whorde shooter in which you adn up to 3 of your friends complete objectives on a map while fighting back hundreds of police officers, or sneaking through trying to complete the your given objectives without raising the alarm.
Depending on the difficulty and heist the game can go from walk in the park to maddeningly difficult. Higher difficulties increse the damage and health of enemies, their numbers and introduce new enemy types. For example at Very Hard you are introduced to the Bulldozer, a hulking beast of a man with an absurd health pool, capable of dishing out tons of damage. On very hard the Bulldozer can only be armed with a pump action shotgun, capable of doing lots of damage, but with a slow rate of fire and range not too difficult to deal with. On Death wish and Death sentence you can face a Bulldozer with a bloody minigun.
The game has an impressive ammout of weapons and customization for them and more being added constantly thanks to modders.
The heist/mission selection is also impressive with well over 50 of them to choose from. Some good, some bad. A few are infinite and only end when you want them too. Those tend to be fun as a challenge (like cooking 25 bags on Cook off, a 2 hour affair for example).
There are no classses in Payday like many other shooters have. Instead the game has an RPG style approach to skill trees, where you can choose what to invest into yourself, depending on your playstyle.
The game runs on an old engine and thus looks dated. It's hard to believe this game came out in the same year as Battlefield 4, when that game looks and runs far better than Payday.

While it's hard to say if this game is worth the full price it deffinetly is worth a discounted one.
If you wish to buy this game i suggest you keep an eye on the news for events and such for this game. They usually happen ever few months or so and generally include discounts.
IF YOU DECIDE ON BUYING THIS GAME GET ULTIMATE EDITION. It includes all the DLCs apart from H3H3 Character Pack, and you really aren't missing out there.
