This is one of those games that's very difficult to keep yourself from playing once you've learned how it works. It can initially feel stacked against you, like it's impossible to make it to the end without dying. But eventually you get a feel for the types of cards each character has available to them, and how to go about strategically acquiring and using them to climb higher and higher up the spire.

The base game only has three characters, but mods add even more, with their own unique cards and passive buff items. That's not to say that mods are the only thing that make the game "worth it" or anything; there's enough there to have plenty of fun even without mods.

If you've been itching for a roguelike and haven't found much worthwhile, give this one a shot.

DIfferent from any previous Resident Evil game, and wholely enjoyable despite (and because) of it. There's so much replay value, especially if you get the DLC. I can say without a doubt that this is my favourite Resident Evil game, and one of my favourite survival horror games in quite some time.

Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but one of my favourite games from 2015. Music is a definite highlight.
