Don't want this to end.

I'm about to start Chapter 2 and I can't get over how extremely well done this game is.. the atmosphere is seriously eerie, LOADS of puzzles, no cheap jumpscares, great story that's coherent and keeps you guessing what's next as the story unfolds at a great pace.

I would say it's like a beginners guide to horror games whilst also providing that level of horror that a horror aficionado would love and appreciate.

I had this game sitting in my library for so long and can't believe I am only starting it now.. I know it's not the longest games out so nervous about finishing it but definitely do not regret buying this! Can not recommend it enough!

Hands down one of the best entries and money well spent. Whether you are an RE fan or not, I can not recommend getting this anymore than I can.

At first, I thought it was pretty neutral and it was just like the other RE's but it gradually grew in to bigger things, different scenarios and was super well paced. Having to swap between Leon and Grace was quite nice instead of having to do the whole story again just to see it from the other POV.

It has the perfect amount of horror, suspense, action and nostalgia. I feel like there could have been more puzzles but then again, I can barely do basic maths so I'm happy with the amount that was provided.

Now for round 2!

It is so uncoherent and was sorta decent until you stopped playing as Ethan.. Also, if you want a kid to be scary, make em say crap like "sigma" or "skibidi"..

A soft recommendation and here's why:

I have recently gotten in to roguelike/roguelite games and so I've gone about trying to find some of the best out there and this one kept popping up on the main Steam home page as well as Google searches for "Best roguelike games" etc

When I watched the trailer, I was worried about being overwhelmed by the combinations but I saw the game on sale so I decided to give it a go.

I originally wanted to refund the game due to the fact that it's a bit too slow to start for my liking and the town building aspect is a bit gimmicky but as I played in small doses, each time I closed the game, I found myself wanting to load back up.

The combinations of the balls weren't as overwhelming as I had expected and am quite happy with how that feature works. The gameplay I tend to play at the fastest setting because my brain THRIVES off of the "GOTTA GO FAST NNEEEOOOOOWWW" mentality so while it is still a tad bit slow, it's definitely not something that's going to completely throw me off.

The music is super chill. If you like the music in Cult of the Lamb, you will LOVE the music in this game.

The only issue I have right now, is the building aspect.. I understand it and I still have a bit to learn about what would be the best positioning for the farms and building and what not but I think it makes it feel a bit bothersome to have to shoot out workers, like you would balls in a match, to upgrade buildings in a small amount of time and then you have to wait until you can fire out more workers..

I get that this is kind of a way to prevent people from leveling up too fast(?) and of course, the more you progress, the more time, abilities, buildings etc become available but right off the bat, it's a bit of a weird addition.

All in all, I don't think I would have paid full price just yet but it is a decent game and it does scratch some kind of itch within me. If it absolutely looks like your thing, give it a go! but if you are unsure, I say wait for it to go on sale.

NOTE: If this helps in any decision making: I bought it on sale and I took a stab in the dark by going over the 2 hour limit to give it a chance and so far I'm not dissapointed or wanting to look to get a refund anymore.

I know I've spent hours in creating a character before actually playing the game (looking at you Baulder's Gate 3..) or the intro to the game leaves you with little time before deciding if you like the game or not but I think this game peaqued my curiosity to go further around the hour mark.

Legit thought this was going to be just a standard rougelike kinda game but the amount of "WHAT TF?!" moments and content this game provides for such a price is increidbly insane.

Someone left a negative review because they felt like the mountains you climb were unrealistic.. lolk, pop off sis. Seriously though, It's a great game for such a little price. Lots of achievements to go for, map changes and even better with friends.

Want to quickly just say: If you get overwhelmed easily or don't like being thrown in the deep end right away, this game isn't for you as this is not beginner friendly. Thankfully, I had a friend who helped me through the beginning because it was a LOT to take in all at once and now I'm slowly getting it but have to take everything one step at a time.

Now the good: This is actually a beautifully made game with LOADS to explore, unlock, achieve etc. I didn't think I'd like this game but after a friend gifted it to me, it is really growing on me and it's starting to be the only thing I can think of.

As I said, I'm still learning/finding my feet and have to take breaks but I really am enjoying it as I continue to discover new things.

I like the sound when you headshot an enemy with a brick. Makes very good “thuk” sound that tickles all my tisms.

The original gave me Banjo Kazooie nostalgia but the game just wasn't it.. this however, is next level. I was a bit worried when opening the game to such a simple menu but everything is just a complete upgrade from the original.

It could've been skill issue on my end but in the original, I got half way through Glitterglaze Glacier before giving up because everything from the controls to the game play just couldn't keep me glued and it felt rough to play.. This, however, has been an awesome experience, it's keeping me coming back, easy to pick up and enjoy plus made it way past Glitterglaze Glacier and still enjoying it so I'm happy!

It does feel a bit too easy but the options to increase the difficulty was an extremely pleasing thing to see put in to the game.
