The game is short and very linear. It isn't much of a "simulator", as it gives you no free will, and there is a lot of hand holding. You don't determine the cause of death on your own. All you do is point and click where the game tells you do, and the game will give you the cause of death in due time. It's basically a short interactive film. Not much more to it... I also took my time with the game, and was surprised to see credits rolling after only 5 hours. That little time on a game with such little free will is not worth the money, in my opinion.
It looks nice, and they definitely did their research for all the info that was put into the game, but I don't enjoy it with this much hand-holding.

Early Access Review
The FIRST game is fantastic. I would definitely recommend the first game if you're interested in space travel or if you want to learn. I have over 1000 hours in that game, on Steam alone, not including on other platforms. THIS game however... it was being developed by a different developer who delayed the launch of the game for years, and when it finally released it early access, it was EXTREMELY bare bones. I didn't expect such a lack of content or equipment to build with. Even for an early access game, it was years worth of disappointment. They finally released 1 major update to add science mode and more equipment, making the game ACTUALLY playable, along with a few decent patches. now THIS is what I was expecting for the early access release. Well, it's been over a year since it's release and the developer is now closing and the team is being laid off. Maybe the project will be transferred elsewhere? Who knows. The game has had a very rough run since it's release and the future of this game is looking quite bleak. If development does get picked up by someone else, I may change my review, but I absolutely cannot recommend this game right now. Go get the original KSP.

This only colors the truck with a color that is already available in the game. Nothing else changes.

This game had potential when they were working on it, but it seems they got tired of working on it and released it early, claiming it was "1.0", and never bothered on patches since. The game is unfinished and abandoned.

Not sure why I got my hopes up for this game, but it turned out as a disappointment. The game looks like it was thrown together with little to no care. The first thing I noticed is that it has language options for English or German, but if you select English, you still get random German dialog and tool tips, as well as graphic settings.
The tool tips only show up for a select few things and aren't exactly very helpful.
The audio for all vehicles is exactly the same, and sounds like it was pulled from a souped up car from Need For Speed. Imagine that on a baggage tug.
The vehicle handling, especially while towing anything, is extremely awkward, which is disappointing considering 90% of the game is driving around.
There are several bugs that simply will prevent you from completing your tasks.
As for visuals, the graphics are sub-par, but I can't complain. However, I laughed when I noticed the steering wheel turns in the opposite direction than you are actually steering. While turning left, the wheels turn left, but the steering wheel turns right, and vice versa. When turning on headlights, you can see the light projecting on your surroundings, but the actual headlight housings don't light up. You can also turn on hazards, and signal lights, but they do absolutely nothing. You can hear a ticking sounds like they are flashing, but you see no lights at all.
Absolutely can't recommend this for any aspect of the game, really...

I've been playing Kerbal since it was in beta. It's been years, and it has gotten so much better since the day I started. I have over 1,100 hours in the game, and not all of that time is logged on Steam. This game lets you build rockets, crafts, orbital stations, planetary bases, rovers, and ocean crafts the way that you want. There is strategy to it as well, so it is challenging. Not only is it challenging getting to other celestial bodies, but you need to manage your resources wisely, and have your Kerbals preform scientific experiments in all sorts of different scenarios, biomes, and times in order to get your maximum outcome. If you're not familiar with orbital physics, you may need a lot of time and practice to figure it out, but I hope that doesn't deter you from trying it, because once you get a handle on it, it unlocks so much more potential. When I started this game in beta, I had a very basic understanding of orbital physics, but not enough to successfully get to orbit. I got frustrated, but kept trying. I played with it and experimented with crafts to figure out how everything reacted to different situations, and how everything handled, and kept doing so until it triggered a strong love of space, to the point where I began studying in my spare time. Really, this game has given me a much stronger love of the universe and all that's in it, and a much stronger understanding of how it all works. I will continue adding to my time in Kerbal, and hopefully when it is more developed, KSP2.
I absolutely would recommend this game, but you need to keep in mind, this isn't a game where you just point and the sky and fire your engines, and now you are in space. You need to understand or be willing to learn realistic physics in order to get there. The angle of your gravity turn around the planet, the position of the planets around the sun, the angle of each planet's orbit, the gravity well and atmosphere of the planets you are visiting... Every little thing matters. Get the game if you understand, or if you are at least willing to learn.
