Review written just after early access patch 2, so very early.
It looks really promising, there's a lot of variety in how the enemy factions fight, and there are not just one viable tactic to playing. The upgrading on your ship feels beneficial, though not all the tools are equal in value. There's a solid foundation for them to build the game on, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this leads.

The good:
Enemy variety, pirates fight differently than aliens. You're encouraged to bring the right tools for the mission.
Tactical variety, you can play stealthy, or more heavily armored, more vehicles or more infantry. It does work, though it can work differently against different factions

The meh
The voicelines can get a little tedious

The bad
UI needs to be made clearer, armor is a grey bar, and against some backgrounds it can be very difficult to see. There are other things in the UI that needs work, like the amount of clicks needed to sell stuff, and you can't compare things you buy until you've bought them

This game is responsible for me staying up 2 hours longer than planned several times. "Just a quick round" just doesn't exist, its too easy to start a new one. So far there's been daily updates with balancing. Can absolutely recommend it!

Just make sure you keep an eye on the clock so it's not suddenly 0230 and you need to get up in 5 hours..

Wanted to play this game with friends, but it was extremely clunky to play through it together. You have to start the mission alone, run around until you get to the cutscene and then leave the mission to then join your friend in this.
I'm told it gets a lot more fun when you're done with the story and just hunt, but getting to that point was such a chore we stopped.

A lot of great hours spent in it. Don't forget to try the mods!

So many hours sunk into this, can't recommend the Roguetech mod enough along with it!
