Early Access Review
A lot of comments unfairly compare Necesse to other games, and while it has similarities, those similarities are only in a few mechanics. Mainly, it does play similar to a top-down Terraria, which makes it VERY fun and that perspective works a lot better imo. Saying Rimworld, stylistically with some aspects of settlement management, sure. Stardew, I mean you mine, fish, and farm. A lot of the comparisons people make seem overinflated, yet the game is still great.

At time of writing this I've dropped 67hr and am still engaged to continue playing. My only complaint is 3-4 mild QoL quirks that could be worked out and acclimating to the art style.

This is well worth the $10, and they're still working on updates.

I wouldn't call it fun, but it's certainly enjoyable with world modifiers.
If Nintendo sues, I can't imagine the community backlash they'd face.

This game is unbelievably passionate and complex, the best resource management sim I've ever played.
Be sure to take thing slow and learn every in-game tool at your disposal, because they all really help.

I was skeptical of the game at first due to car handling on release, however that was quickly polished out. The development team has been on top of things releasing consistent planned updates that add a lot to the game, and the recent Halloween event is spectacular.
I didn't expect to put 19 hours into this and still enjoy it, it's unhinged and captivating.

Forget everything you know about car handling, it's a Need for Speed game; if you prefer simulation handling this will be intolerable between arcade handling and typical NFS catch-up mechanics.
First 30 minutes were spent trying to work around a bug that soft-locks LG OLED TVs into a black screen, and this is 3 years past the game's launch.
The $70 price tag is a joke for a game that feels like a flashy PS3 game, get it on sale if you can't get it on free to play.

Edit: To get past the LG OLED soft-lock on Windows 10/11:
1. Launch the game.
2. When the screen goes black press alt+enter (minimizes the game window).
3. Press control+windows+right-arrow (changes the active desktop).
4. Turn the entire TV / Monitor off and on again.
5. Press control+windows+left-arrow (to get back to your desktop).
6. From there the game should be in windowed mode and you can turn off HDR from the game settings, which causes the soft-lock.

Despite being well above the recommended system specs the game suffers from frequent stuttering --- approximately every 10-30 seconds --- lasting anywhere between over a second to a fraction of a second; the game runs smoothly on both "Hyper" and "Low" settings with no changes in stuttering behavior. (Graphics drivers, mainboard drivers, and Windows are fully up to date.)
Spending my time trying to correct such a large problem on a game, that at the time of writing this is 4 years old, is such a large turn off: this should've been patched long ago. I can't recommend this game until it's patched to run properly on modern hardware, because otherwise it seemed like fun.

I'm not one to be so eager to write reviews, but

This is a near-perfect clone of Marble Blast Ultra, and I really have to praise that.
- There have been many other attempts by developers but Marble It Up! nails the control and handling mechanics as well as the over-all aesthetic of Ultra.
- Dropping into this fills that nostalgic void will in of itself being a pleasant and fun experience!
- Although very different from it's inspiration I find the choice of music really suits the overall feel of the game.
I have yet to really get through the meat of the game, but I'm certainly enjoying the experience thus far.

If you desire to fill the nostalgiac void in your heart or just to play something casual / competative: I highly recommend this.
