Bad port of what seems to be a good game. I say seems because I have about 8 hours of playtime but suddenly I am unable to even launch the game less than 24 hours later because it tells me I need Windows 10 to play it...thing is I have windows 10. Other people reporting all kind of similar but different issues where one of the game launches and the other doesnt or they get stuck on black screens. Inexcusable at this price to have these kind of issues not ironed out. Its a risk to purchase this game so I guess it comes down to if you wanna gamble about $40 on something that might not work or might stop working.
EDIT:
There is also a soft lock in Esselgard where the game prompts you to type a word in to solve a puzzle. The prompt appears simply for looking at a specific door. If youre using a controller which you probably will be since the game has no mouse support the game will soft lock since you will be unable to exit this text box and your keyboard will not work forcing you to task manager crash your game. This text box glitch also exists in Stranger of Sword City at something as basic as character creation. They did a very jank fix for my previous problem with being able to launch the game on Windows 10. The game will actually launch again however steam is unable to track my hours played and I get an error message every time I launch the game. The game is awesome if you enjoy these kinds of RPGs but the port is just ridiculous. I wont reference the myriad of other problems other people have reported since I only want to report my experience. However it is obvious this is an objectively bad port of whats other wise a good set of games. The question has to be do you want to support this kind of cash grab port just to play these games? Also are you willing to tolerate having to alt+f4 your game and lose progress because the game just doesnt work sometimes? In summation both games are great if you like dungeon crawling turn based RPGs but the port isnt just mediocre its just bad
