Breath of fresh air in the souslike genre that kept making me smile :)

The game sheds a lot of number complexity for mechanical complexity which made the game much easier to comprehend- on top of the game having many QoL features like directly showing you the math behind stats for you among other things.

This game has amazing setpieces and stunning visuals within its levels- and oh boy the level design. Compared to every other souls game I've played the level design of this game is absolutely the best hands down. It beats Elden Ring. It mogs the heck outta Dark souls 2, Lies of P proves you can have elaborate and difficult levels that are easy to understand and not impossibly infuriating to traverse. There is a level that uses ONE BONFIRE (stargazer in this game) for you to traverse a large first floor, a second floor that branches outside, and a third small floor. The whole time you never feel like you have to go that far.

The boss design in this game is AMAZING! All of them were so insanely cool in their visual design and their attack design. Throughout the entire game I never found myself genuinely upset at a boss, usually only ever myself for being greedy or messing up because of how the game allows you to learn against them all.

The character you play as, peak. I was initially a bit disappointed by the lack of customization but they let you basically change their outfit and stuff which was charming to me, but I found myself later in the game becoming interested in the character and reverted to a regular outfit because of how your character visually evolves throughout the game.

There was so much more I wish I could say about the game but I want to keep this short, Lies of P is a Soulsgame that cuts out a lot of things that reduced fun in other games of the same genre and adds a lot of its own cute additions that I never found myself disliking. Lies of P is amazing and you should play it if you like games of the genre!

One of the worst games I've ever played. Haven't beaten it yet but I can't exaggerate more how unenjoyable this game has been so far.

EDIT: I have now beaten the game 10 hours later. This game doesn't get better, every boss is first try and don't explore any cool ideas, every level is not intuitive and looks terrible for a game made in 2014, objectives are obtuse but this is slightly excused by the lack of a manual and this was made in the time of game manuals.

This game is such a weird attempt at difficulty. For some reason death is absurdly punished in a game that starts you with the worst roll in the series (that you have to waste your first 20 levels to undo), enemies are just placed in extremely mean ways. The game is not shy early to let you know you'll be getting ganked constantly and gives you no alluring skulls (an item to lure enemies for 5ish seconds to a spot), even if it did give you this item a majority in the game are simply immune to the item's effects :))))

The game is full of obtuse mechanics that differ from other games such as constant placement of doors, the lacking of invulnerability frames on nearly every animation (INCLUDING BACKSTABS AND FOG WALLS!! AN ENEMY CAN GIVE YOU ITS BACK AND YOU DIE FOR IT BECAUSE YOU ATTACKED!! VERY FUN!!), parkour "puzzles", and torches that are consumed with use.

I was invaded in this game by another player online four times in total throughout my 30 hours, the very first one was right after I had dropped 50,000 souls. Anxious to not lose my souls, I steeled myself as I'm pretty good at pvp in Elden Ring and understand fundamentals of combat in souls games- the enemy player was a cheater and just killed me instantly.

The second invader was a player named "kill me". Upon my friend seeing this he told me to kill myself because the invader might give me an absurd amount of runes if I killed him.

The third invader I mistook for a PvE invasion as their name and outfit seemed likely, however, they were a massively overleveled player who killed me.

The fourth invader I never engaged with, I killed myself as soon as I saw the prompt- saving myself the time.

Do not play this game, if a friend of yours endorses this game they are out to get you and should be excised from your life.

I did not smile playing this terrible game, every moment I saw a glimmer of something interesting the idea was squandered and failed terribly.

I started with exploring areas thoroughly and wanting to see what was offered and about halfway through the game I simply ran to the next area that progressed me, ignoring all other paths until I was eventually gated arbitrarily and had to look up what was next.

Dark souls summer.

Very initially addicting and fun roguelike game!!

I was really disappointed with the lack of achievements or progression for beating the game besides simply unlocking new difficulties, I'd love to see tailored challenges and difficulty rewards in the medium of starter ball skins or beta art for the items, or pyramid reskins.

There's also some minor balancing issues within the game that bother me like coins being obviously the strongest archetype to use, Agers being a mechanic that has a lot of things to increment them but lacks enough actual members in its type, Chain items AFAIK only consist of two items with both being mediocre, and finally the lack of cooldown interactivity- there's a few items and boons that reset them but otherwise you simply don't interact with them so they can be very feast/famine at times.

All that said this game is really great and it does what it does really well, it just starts to lack in replayability once you have finally beaten every difficulty or mode.

If I wanted to play Hades, I would play Hades.

Only thing this game has that reflects Wizard Of Legend is arcana names and relics existing, even if this game becomes better later it will likely not be Wizard of Legend and instead be a Hades type roguelike that piggyback's off of the previous game's cult classic type of following.

I played for 30 minutes in an experience that was just soulless Hades and no returning characters (as far as I could tell) except for Tomi. Why not use the designs from the first game of the bosses? I don't know. Why not follow the same type of enemy scaling that the first game had? Eh just give them the yellow armor health bar from Hades. Everything felt sluggish compared to WoL1 and everything felt way less satisfying than WoL1.

I really don't think I could recommend against a game more for someone coming and expecting something like Wizard Of Legend at all.

Truly a great game that tells a great story.

I cried at the end of this game and felt emotional throughout the experience.
Games like this inspire me to pursue some sort of art form to express my life or a story, to create something to either entertain or to be remembered by.

The only criticism I can have of the game is in the game-play but its more of a nitpick than anything else.
It can be very tediously punishing to not have inventory space for key items and have to leave them the first time you see them.
Some areas change as you complete things in them or may not have a map and be hard to orient yourself in and it can make the pathways back to the left key items very frustrating to navigate.

Specifically in the Nowhere section of the game I was stuck running in circles trying every door and every pathway to find the one room I had to abandon previously, there is no map in this section and it is a 3 floor area with doors you unlock every now and then.

Regardless, this game is great and I recommend it to all but mostly queers probably lol
I love these space lesbians, I love my partner :3
