Tony Hawk's Pro Saints Row

On the one hand, Saints Row 2 is the best game in the franchise, and, in my opinion, one of the best games ever made, with great characters, a great story, and the amazing sandbox that is Stilwater.
On the other hand, it is a broken, buggy mess of a port with constant crashes, and is literally unplayable without mods and fan patches. Especially for the co-op, which originally used GameSpy.
It's also worth noting that the game never received any of the story DLC available on consoles.

A cautious recommendation, with the huge caveat that it requires a trip to PCGamingWiki, the Gentlemen of the Row mod to be playable, with the Juiced Patch basically mandatory for co-op, along with additional stability improvements.

Rest In Peace IdolNinja, while the official patch is probably never coming out considering the closure of Volition, your work on Gentlemen of the Row will forever have improved this game.

Short, funny, and, most importantly, incredibly stupid, Gat out of Hell is the logical to what Saints Row: The Third started.
As the title implies, the story centres around Gat, and, while a supporting character, Kinzie very much feels like an addition made for co-op play (she is only assigned to Player 2 and not playable solo).

A small disappointment that I must mention is that the it seems to have dropped support for Saints Row IV saves at some point, and thus will no longer import your boss from the previous game.

Only play this if you've already finished SRIV, and ideally SRTT, as they are very much required to understand anything going on (with extra context coming from SR and SR2).

While not my favourite, Saints Row: The Third is the perfect midway point between the more grounded setting of its predecessors and the absolute insanity of its sequel, thus making for the best introduction to the series.

It's also the most stable installment aside from 2022, and should run on any machine from the last ten years due to its low system requirements.

And, on top of all of that, you can grab The Full Package for less than five Euros during virtually any sale.

Overall, highly recommended to any newcomer to the series. Whether you decide to bring a friend along or not.

Just let me make it clear: I love Saints Row IV. It's a genuinely great game. Absolutely unhinged from start to finish. It feels like a love letter to the series as a whole, with a lot of references to cheesy action flicks.

Sadly, the Re-Elected update seems to have made it ridiculously broken and unstable, disconnecting each other regularly in co-op, and sometimes simply crashing to desktop.

And while you *can* go to Properties > Beta > Legacy for a relatively more stable version, it will not include any of the DLC, unless you purchased the game prior to the Re-Elected update. Which is a shame, considering they might top the base game in terms of sheer stupidity. And I mean that in a good way.

I want to recommend it, but be warned, it will not be smooth sailing.

It's a great puzzle game, until the very last level throws stressful precision platforming at you.
8/10 not recommended if you're 30 years old and have arthritis.

Great game, but the multiplayer is currently broken. Wait for a fix.
