I started playing on July 5th with no idea what Shadowverse was. I had no outside influence, and after almost 10 years of Hearthstone—which has been very disappointing for me (with a few breaks in between)—I simply wanted to discover a new card game. That's all.

To be fair and honest, this game is very, very, very good. I'm having so much fun that I honestly can't understand why people are so angry.

* Yes, it's difficult to get Legendary cards, but it's no harder than in other card games like Hearthstone. Moreover, Shadowverse offers a huge amount of low-cost decks through its guides, tutorials, and practice systems available in-game. As a bonus, I'm actually happy whenever I pull a Legendary because it really feels rare.
* Yes, there is a meta, and some archetypes are stronger than others—just like in every card game. However, there are so many more viable archetypes here that there's really no reason to complain compared to what you can find in other card games.
* Yes, it's hard to get skins... so what? They're just cosmetics. What's the big deal? -_-


If you farm every day, you'll get, at best, 2 or 3 packs of 5 cards in Hearthstone. Here, you'll get about the same number of packs, but they contain 10 cards each, so there's really nothing to complain about.

I personally started (in July 2026) with around 70–80 free packs and two complete, competitive decks that were immediately usable in Ranked mode. Honestly, that's incredibly generous, so I can't complain.

There is only one thing that is a little frustrating: the same Legendary card can be used up to three times in a deck. In my opinion, that's what makes collecting Legendaries feel difficult, because ideally you want three copies before getting the full value from the card. However, this single issue is nowhere near enough to ruin the entire game.


This game is awesome. The people claiming it's a scam are either stupid impatient babies who want everything handed to them immediately or deep idiots who simply don't know what they're talking about, no matter what they say.

Play this game. It's really cool :)
