i never expected i'd find a game so bad it made me quit playing the series.

it was unbelievable for me that mischaracterization could happen in canon games. the game always give what's best for the character, right? people are just salty. yet, this is the first time i disagree. whoever decided to interpret kiryu in this game should be jailed.

this isn't the kiryu i've played in previous games, and his behavior makes me cringe sometimes. the romance between him and kaoru made his character worse, if you've played the previous kiwami–you should've known why. it felt like someone's wattpad story get brought into life, this game can't be real lol. i'd like to think rgg was being silly and i liked to throw tomatoes. if you consider kiryu/kaoru a "me and who" thing, you could be an incel in the most derogatory way. they could've written ryuji and kaoru better.

the characterization issue is actually ignorable if you don't care abt the story, then you're here for the combat–i mean, what else? the combat sucks, it really feels incomplete and badly scaled just like the main story itself-it's trying to tell us something yet it just ended up blabbering and the book closed too quickly, the ending was hideous.

everything wasn't so bad at first, but once you reach midgame–you'll become nauseous clicking the buttons to fight and do combos as the rng licked your butt. but i think rgg learned their mistake in future dragon engine games and made the physics match with the combat style.

daigo was pretty in this game though, the substories were fun and i fawking got catfished by it LOL

probably the worst game i've ever hyperfixated on. pirate umbrella chronicles wii game if u actually want to know the true origins of this franchise, unless ur a leon fangirl and like to walk so slowly with the lack of game mechanism, then it's not bad.

getting this game will automatically download a virus called yakuza 0 and reduce ur bank balance until it hits hundreds of negative without your consent, please be aware.

i found this title out from hakuoki's fighting psp game where chizuru got kidnapped by kazama and the men had to chase him down, call it warriors of the shinsengumi. a lot of misogynistic men played it without knowing it was based on a female-gazed otome game lol.

back to the topic, kyoto winds. you'll love this one if you like a realistic and based on historical timeline otome game-however some of the good endings are rather boring and cliched if you played WAY a lot of otome games before, but it's worth to try and spend your time on playing routes, just be smart on choosing answers. please note-this is only halfway of the whole game, the endings may not satisfy you. however, it does enough emotions for me, this is coming from someone who has difficulty on enjoying romance media.

i prefer the visual novel adaptation better than any other ones (i basically can't sit down and watch the anime), and of course if you're new into the series, kyoto winds is the best for the starting point but it'll be incomplete if you don't get edo blossoms.
