Was reading through the reviews of the original Half-Life and came across yours. If you are looking for an updated experience I enthusiastically recommend the title "Black Mesa". It is a re-skin of the entire game with a re-imagined final area (the Zen Universe) and boss fight. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Cheers

Hey! I've read your review on Half-Life and to answer your question, there is a modern remaster of the game, called "Black Mesa". It's on steam and I think it's on sale, too. Personally, I only played Black Mesa and it was the best single-player experience I've ever had, but I plan on trying the original Half-Life tomorrow, as I bought the entire Valve Pack. Hope you can give Black Mesa a try!
