Planet of Lana is a perfectly executed puzzle/platformer, In the same vein as Limbo and Inside.
Whilst short, the impressionistic graphics and cute companion make up for any shortcomings.
It's a great rainy day/kill an evening affair with universal appeal.

Apparently I have to give reason to why I do not recommend this title.
Mostly it's weird button choices for the controls sometimes opening things is one button other times it's another. Trying to press on something can activate whats in your hand if you're not quite close enough, which is problematic when you accidentally blow something up with grenade, like your transport or yourself.
Most of the later game chapters deviate from what you perform early on which would have maybe been a nice twist except it really isn't. The "narrator" talks too quickly to consistently catch what he says, messages overlap, cut off and interrupt each other.
Overall It's a bit of a mess.

I wish the developers luck with the sequel.

6/10

After pouring a fair amount of time into this game (323 hours) I can say it's not healthy for me to continue playing it.

Visually it's a beauty but beyond the flash and sparkle the systems and mechanics are like any other MMO/ARPG live service. Designed to lure you in and indoctrinate you towards the grind.

Without extensively researching how you want to interact with this game it's easy to become overwhelmed by the many RNG systems or %chance failure rates re: levelling up your equipment.

It is designed to be time consuming and confusing and played with friends.
DO NOT SOLO! This game is geared towards end game group content for the best rewards. Without support you will find yourself disadvantaged if not completely lost.

I suppose this is all pretty standard affair with F2P games this generation.

It's average to good fun if not excellent in places at the beginning but the story - that I can access - loses it's initial appeal. It's a theme park of adventure games that decided to keep the waiting in lines as a feature.

Do not step into this uninformed. Certain currencies are locked to character when opened so opening every chest will leave you with an abundance of materials you can neither use nor sell.

Anybody that suffers with OCD should run as far as they can from this product.

Shockingly though as far as F2P games go it's probably a 7/10
As a solo experience it wanes to a 4/10

I'm a little older and I wasn't looking to join a guild or min-max every statistic.
I certainly wasn't looking to wait for islands to mystically appear at 11AM on a Monday then boot me after 20 minutes when I'm trying to explore a new area and what it offers.

I'm disappointed and I can't recommend investing the time I have into this unless you want the whole community, guild, teamwork experience.

This game is on top 10 lists for good reason. It's fun, fast paced and the story is rather interesting.
Soundtrack is decent, and the graphics while retro are used well. It's a smashing indie title.
I may update my review once I've gone though the whole thing and put some extra hours in.

Resident Evil is back! There is plenty here to keep oldschool and newschool fans of the series entertained.

Campaign Mode has a traditional mix of story, puzzle, action and suspense.
Actions alter the way it plays out as you progress adding replay value without the chasing after Emblems and extras. SP are awarded for gathering gems and completing various tasks and performing well. Enabling you to power up on future playthroughs.

Raid Mode turns up the pace for the run and gun addicts. Progression awards unlocks and skills to power up characters as you level them up. Daily missions are available while connected to steam online. Online co op when added should be interesting but split screen is more than acceptable for the time being.

The control system works well and feels smoother than Revelations 1. New mechanics for campaign partner add strategy to the mix. Offline co op works especially well here.

The negatives are that rushing through raid mode before completing the campaign could potentially spoil later chapters. Also Capcom having difficulty with optimization on initial release has soured the experience. Thankfully patches have been implemented and they seem intent on keeping this up until everything is fixed.

The things that are missing:
An online co op for campaign mode (Online co op for Raid due 31st March) I can understand the reluctance to supply a LAN option.
More customisable graphics and controls settings. If users could reduce particle count on effects themselves, and turn off filter options for things like film grain as a preference. Capcom wouldn't have to worry as much about fps drops on older PC systems.
Dual monitor support for PC! (If Capcom can supply this feature in future it will be amazing) the skewed black borders need to become an optional thing. Forcing local co op is fine as long as the option for separate screens becomes available.

8/10 (somewhere between 5-7/10 whilst suffering the fps drops, depending on severity)

It's still one of the best titles in the series since Resident Evil 4.
