A decent arcade racer, but price exploitative.

The only purchase recommendations I can make are for season passes, after that, the paid token exchange rate is cruel. Maybe the deluxe pass, if you figure you can get a better rate with the poor token quantities you can buy. I have enough paid tokens to purchase my next season pass by playing, but, I've no idea if I gained those tokens through the single player Seasonal Series, or one time opportunities in the game. I'm curious as to if I'll have to pay out of pocket for my third season, but, I'll know midway through my second.

Important thing: Local multiplayer (2-4 players) is unlocked after finishing the Starter Series, Local single and multiplayer allows you access to ALL characters, though restricted to level 15 at 2 stars (I think about 2 stars. When I checked, I was more surprised it was all characters)

Free advancement is "generally" fine, but you will have little control over the direction it goes. Within the half season I've currently played, I've unlocked just over half the characters, and have multiple characters at 3 stars, but, once more, little choice over the characters advanced were by my choice, outside of choosing which one I had I spent multiple tokens on to advance in level.

Online advancement introduces negative penalties for low placement within multiplayer rank 16 (this is on a per character basis.) You will have no idea if your opponents have four or five star characters, nor which Crew Members enhancing stats, pick ups, or starting items. I hesitate to talk about my experiences in trying to advance beyond 16, if only because a very plausible answer to my struggles is "I Suck"

I do recommend this game, but, use temperance.

Do not allow yourself to purchase much more than what is needed for a season pass, and you can have fun, and even gain a decent roster to play with when you have friends over. You just need to remember though, you will only be advancing at the whims of the game.

It's taken a while, but this has grown into a worthy part of the Fallout franchise. Build your own site, set it up as a permanent fixture, or modular so you can pay a few caps and move it closer to your questing region. The map is spread out fairly well for excitement, gathering, and sight seeing in the Appalachia region. Combat and action is consistent with the series, and the licensed soundtrack welcomes back familiar tunes from prior games, while bringing in Tennessee Ernie Ford and The Beach Boys.

A fun reminder of Road Rash, while giving a bit of grittiness (No glorious mug shots of Road Rash 3,) in presentation, while taking the absurdity of the concept where they can.

Controller users: X/Y is attack left/right, A is counter, B is kick, Left Bumper is jet boost, Right trigger is accelerate, double tap right trigger for boost

Fun, stupid little twin stick shooter with a variety of weapons, and an office setting, trying to make your way through a zombie massacre.

A quirky puzzle/action game using a third person view, you cut, pull, and rocketpush blocks and rocks to work your way from the beginning to the end in a quest to recover a pair of pants from the thieving Big.

The graphics are simple, the aesthetics are interesting (I rather like the appearance, which resembles Saturday morning cartoons, or possibly even vestiges of Adventure Time,) though the game is relatively monotone (beginning of the game, lots of sepia, though there is some switch up for colour as you approach the end of the game.)

A relatively short game, exploration is encouraged, with cassette tapes and new music, hidden challenges, and ordinary rocks waiting to be found. For the (current,) $10 price point, there is more than enough content found within to make up for the relatively short time the game takes to be completed (two sessions for myself, very few extra challenges found, less than half of the collectables.)

The big draw to this game, is that one is able to cut up the scenery, and manipulate it to advance. There may be prefered methods to complete an area, BUT, odds are, the solutions the player finds will be different from the ones the developers intended, allowing for plenty of exploration and reasons to visit levels after completion.

Not for everyone, but, I do recommend giving it a shot if you have a few dollars kicking around, or at least looking into some videos online of the gameplay to see if this would be the game for you.

Note: If you have an irrational hatred of furries, this game won't be for you. If you are neutral to the idea to favorable to the idea, well, continue on with the review.

This metroidvania styled game (in my opinion,) ranks up with Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night for its overall quality and layout. With HD, hand drawn (computer assisted,) sprite animation, backgrounds that could be paintings, plot lines that, for such a colourful game, have surprisingly dark moments, there is much to be enjoyed. For minor twists on the genre, the level layouts, and scaling, are not reflected in the map, as a square represents a "zone" or large room, rather than the map trying to mimic the size of the maps in a one to one ratio, giving a layer of obfuscation to where the secrets may hide, or how many are in an area. The leveling system seems fairly well balanced, with the player having the option of controlling how advancement happens, though with some restrictions (only able to level a stat to X until you reach level Y.)

The equipment system works in a standard manner, however, the inventory system leaves a touch to be desired (it is serviceable, though a touch cluttered.) There is a basic crafting system built into the game, and if you wish to have the "best" items, you will need to dabble in it a bit (item grinding has been minimized to a point. If you catalog a crafting (or quest!) item with a vendor, he will add more to his supplies over time, allowing you to quickly (pending when you cataloged the item, if you need many shortly after giving your first, you may need to wait while restocking happens) purchase what you need for crafting or to finish a side quest.

There is a lot of voice work in this game, and often offered with animated cut-outs, and occasionally, full motion video. There is some fourth wall breaking, though it is mostly contained to tutorial sections, and on occasion for side quests. The voice actors have a good sense of emotion, so lighter moments feel whimsical, while the darker moments carry sufficient gravitas to maintain feel and plausibility (I did not have any "onion cutting" moments myself, but, was pleasantly surprised at the subjects it was willing to tackle, and the level of maturity it used to approach its topics.)

I believe that for its price point (at this point, $14.99 USD,) it is of fantastic value. If you find it on sale, or as a part of an indie bundle, I recommend grabbing it if only just to have in your backlog.

I recommend watching TotalBiscuits WTF IS... for this game to help determine if you reached this point of the review and still are not certain.

A Diablo-styled game, the multiplayer quest is rather than vs, each player gets to set up their own dungeon.

As a Free2Play game, it starts well. You can only pay to speed up character advancement, and you gain access to one of three main characters, with the other two purchaseable with in game cash (the fourth is available only with RL money.) In game purchaseable cash (Blings,) however, are few and far between. I'm now raiding the fourth zone, and without gaining any of the Blings for having friends visit your castle, I've only earned enough blings to purchase half of a character.

The larger issue I found with the game, is that pacing drops to poor when you reach "mid level," or what I guess is mid level. At level 15, it becomes easier to advance your character than it is your castle, and eventually, you are held back on one or the other, you can't advance your castle because you need either life force or gold (Blings are only for character unlocks, time speed-ups, or cosmetics,) to purchase upgrades to keep your castle competitive for its level, or, you advance beyond your castle, and suddenly get penalized for XP.

I recommend checking it out, but, I recommend holding off on investing in it until you reach level ten to fifteen or so, to see if it is a game that you find worth investing in, or one that leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

A fantastic Metroidvania game, due to the lack of ranged combat, all the action is tight, combo based, and skill based. Skills and abilities are passed out at just the right pace, and nods and winks to old games or cultural memes are everywhere. Whether it is reminiscing about Super Mario Bros at the end of an action sequence, or catching a glimpse of Castlevania paid homage in a wall display.

A welcome feature in this game is drop in couch multiplayer. After about five minutes of gameplay and basic tutorial, you are able to have a friend join in by grabbing a controller and pressing start.

My only complaint is that it seems short. I believe I'm done the meat of the game for main plotline, nearly at the boss zone, and all I wish is that I had a few more areas to explore, and that is knowing that after saving up X in game cash, I will have one more zone to finish, as well, I still have one last area of the arenas to complete.

Overall, a technically and graphically fantastic game. For 15 dollars, I consider it a worthwhile pickup. If you find it on sale, it's worth picking up immediately.

Current monetization vs advancement seems very satisfactory to myself in it's current state. You are able to purchase methods to speed up level advancement or weapon advancement currency, but, not buy weapon parts or power ups straight out. You can also purchase cosmetics, for Axl, T-Bone, and Helga, customizing them likely as much, or possibly even more than a TF2 squad. As for gameplay, fun as heck. Tex Avery as directed by Quentin Tarantino. Fast paced, third person action, massive dollops of ketchup, dodges, disguises, EXTREMELY customizable weapons... (Just remember, every weapon combination is not necesarily a winner, play around with it to make sure it's combat ready in the testing arena.)

Only downside, is that maps seem to favour making snipers into warlords, with many open spaces, and out of the way nests and crannies to make them hard to get at. They don't get the team any points, but, gosh darn, do they ever make Disguise useful.

I'd have to say, it's my current fast action, arena style shooter right now, as I can be sucking the hind teet, and still have a dopey grin on my face. The only thing I don't care for, is how many players seem to prefer death snatch (kill confirmed,) while I love the other modes that are more objective based (Blitz, Jackhammer,) Extraction (collect the McGuffin, get it to a collection point,) is pretty darn fun in most maps, but feels weak in others.

I can't recommend Annihilation to an individual. The mode is too complex for a pug to enjoy without communication. Get three of your buddies who play to join you, use microphones, and wreck face. Or torso, it's not my place to tell you how to kill in this game.
