If you're picking up this game, don't get trapped in the cycle of grinding stuff to easier grind for better stuff, it's hard to avoid this since it's core to Destiny's design, but very often you have the choice to make it work (with what you have), or working till you have no choice but to use the best stuff, which, after a few hours in the game, let me tell you, it isn't too fun grinding for good weapon 'roll' 'til your eyes bleed.

Personally, I mostly play the pvp, so sometimes I do have to grind out the pve to stay on top of meta equipment, however, Destiny 2 is an incredibly vast game with a lot of choices in terms of loadouts/synergies you can build and use, while still maintaining a competitive edge because of their lack of use.

Final Verdict:
Is fun, grindy if you want it, max your funness in the game, too many sweatlords for it to be anything else.
