the first game, but better... what else can i say?
well, for starters... it's not the same game. things play completely different, so even if you're a veteran of STS1 you will have to learn this game from the ground up. that isn't to say that it's worse in any way, on the contrary, everything feels improved, more polished and the best part is there are a lot more cards for each character (and 2 whole new ones) so expect to be doing double or triple your hours from the first game into this one, it's like drugs injected directly into your veins.
and of course, the main selling point of this game is 4 player co-op!

10/10 character, my favorite in BB of all time right next to Ragna and Susanoo, heavily relies on the benefits from dash cancels and perfectly charging your attacks, making mastering those timings and combos a fun treat with a fantastic reward: you become an untouchable ghost, and an all-penetrating spear that nothing can block.
Finally a character that doesn't have to worry about healing because he's simply untouchable. around half of my total playtime in BBEE was dedicated to playing Ragna on the higher difficulties, which i struggled with the other characters with, not including the DLC characters, but those were not really my style even though they can get just as overpowered tbh.
Naoto can easily be the best character in the game due to his maneuverability, strengths, range of attacks (that fill the whole screen), technical difficulty aside, this character really sells the power fantasy of maxing out your potentials, and feels on equal footing if not greater than Ragna (who by all means is an invincible powerhouse that can escape 1% HP situations with his insane soul stealing). highly recommend this character to all players who like patience combined with frantic unending action, hopping around the screen and feeling like a total menace to existence. My Naoto Avatar with full potentials unlocked perfect-killed the super difficult final battles of the story and the regular Entropy100 Extreme Zone runs.
I can't call him a cheat character though, you have to be good at knowing how to use him to be that good.

i don't understand why the reviews for this color pack is mostly negative, these new colors are pretty cool and i don't mind supporting the dev studio by buying them for a small amount through the "Deluxe Edition" which has the "complete your collection" feature, meaning i get a discount and don't need to buy what i already own in the bundle

Super fun game, definitely in my top 5 Roguelikes/lites i've played. The story is super cool and the enemy variety is fantastic. Still have not explored everything the game has to offer nor did I manage to reach the final boss, but I don't see myself getting bored any time soon.

honestly my favorite character in the game. despite having less total spells, the most recent v2.2 update gave her 5 new spells while the rest got only 2 each. Yamat's moveset, weapon arsenal, passives and overall vibe is quite unique and genuinely feels like a great mix of all the other characters. she starts off a bit weak due to her slower attacks but as you unlock her weapons and passives you will realize she is top contender for best character in the game due to her versatility.
and of course, it goes without saying that the developers did a good job at integrating her into the game's story without it feeling forced, her personality may not be for everyone but storywriting-wise, it's great to have characters that are strong and cocky with obvious flaws. if you have not picked up this character, i highly recommend it as she's got a very unique playstyle and tons of variance in her spells, but also has the "dlc character privilege" of being extremely strong, although not that much stronger than the main roster

seems i forgot to review this character when he came out.
he starts off a bit slow and weak but as you unlock more potential upgrades he powercreeps everything. crazy mobility, fun mechanics and his MP regen becomes crazy to the point that you can infinitely throw out the uppercut kick special and keep the enemies juggled till they die... also his ultimate attack is hilarious as you can sit there charging it for 15 seconds while completely invulnerable

beat my best time record on the boss rush mode with this character, super fun to use and feels insanely broken when you have enough of her Potentials unlocked comboing the different grabs into each other feels super rewarding and it's really funny how she can ignore enemy attacks the moment a grab lands. also that ultimate beam attack is ultra satisfying to throw out!

the hate and negative review bombing this game is getting is honestly unwarranted and people should be ashamed of themselves. i will hold off from reviewing this game for now as i await further content updates, plus i am yet to try the online coop to fully write a review. for now just know this game gets a thumbs up from me and is highly enjoyable. this review will be updated in the future to properly reflect my thoughts, but the thumbs up feels like it's guaranteed as i enjoyed this game as much as, if not more than the first.
p.s. i don't get the comparisons to Hades and never will.
