I picked up the game thinking it was going to be a farming simulator with a few rpg elements. I was entirely wrong. The way that Stardew Valley makes you feel like you're actually building a farm and creating relationships with people is impressive. The game was so addicting and relaxing, I felt like every time I had a bad day I had something to come home to and enjoy. As someone who has a hard time talking to people in real life, Stardew Valley gave me an opportunity to interact with people without encountering social anxiety. I was so obsessed with trying to get characters to like me, I started spending hours getting items to give to them without even realizing that it was just a video game.

Stardew Valley is a farming simulator with rpg elements. If you want to grow your farm, you can. If you want to spend time meeting people and attending social events, nothings stopping you. If you want to mine, adventure and fight enemies, its entirely up to you. The game gives you a life that you don't have to worry about real world problems. You can unwind and relax from all of your issues. The soundtrack helps add to the relaxing factor of the game. The soothing sounds that lay behind the game are amazing and fit perfectly.

Something that I was extremely attached to was the way that relationships work. You're able to build a full romantic and friendly relationship with characters that you meet. Giving them specific gifts or even being nice to them can help develop your relationship with them. This is something that I couldn't get enough of. I found myself going out of my way and ignoring other aspects of the game to try and get somebody to fall in love with me.
