This game is super fun! The community is great, the mechanics are great, the game play is great. What are you waiting for? Just buy the game already! FOR MANAGED DEMOCRACY!

Seriously disappointing compared to Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole. I beat the game with a friend in less than 5 hours. The story is short, you only get 3 options for melee and ranged weapons. Card options for upgrades were the same few things over and over. Combat was meh. Story was meh, and short. Feels like it was rushed out with little care during the pandemic.

#DeadGame
This game is like 10 years old at the time of my writing this review. I bought it for like a dollar on sale and got a handful of DLCs with it. It is super fun! The mechanics are great, the heisters are interesting and varied, the heists are a bit repetitive but varied, there's a million different outfits/weapon skins/masks/gloves/builds/etc for you to pick and choose from. There are many options to choose from for builds, skills, and perks. If you like shooting games, or stealthing games, you'll probably enjoy Payday 2. Especially if you buy it on sale, it's great. Just watch out for those pesky cloakers.

Early Access Review
The game is still in early access as I write this, and is currently fairly fun. There are quite a few items that have been removed, leaving redundant resources behind with no purpose that I assume will also be removed at some point in the future. Currently, there are multiple products for you to manufacture that have no purpose other than to further your objectives. There are also alien artifacts that the game demands you collect that have zero purpose, as of writing this. I hope that the developers have plans to rectify this in the future, too. But the game has some great mechanics to it! You can play music on an 80's boombox to jam out while you build, and even damage enemies with it. There are plenty of QOL items that you can earn to make your builds all the more unique and special to you. You can even mod the game already, somewhat. There are multiple areas of the map where you can start out, each with their own pros and cons. There are terrifying creatures, but great weapons. The rifle has a satisfying weight and fire to it. You should go into this game knowing that the goal isn't to reach your milestones and objectives as quickly as possible, however. You should take your time to build up each factory with care and love. Because, while the milestones and objectives can be completed rather quickly and easily, you will then be left with little-to-nothing left to do with yourself once you do. Unless you're seriously motivated by the game's mechanics to move on to further areas and rebuild fresh factories to connect back to your HUB, you'll have nothing at all to motivate you forward. The best advice that I can give you is to be slow and patient with objectives, while focusing on building your factories and leaving plenty of real estate for future machines that need to connect with them.

Kojima sure likes to write weird and nonsensical stories, but the gameplay is enjoyable and chill. Helping other players with your builds is fun and motivating. I wouldn't call this a walking simulator considering you can take ziplines from one end of the map to the other without ever touching the ground. Combat is enjoyable and has lots of variation. Within 5 minutes of getting your BB, you will murder anyone to protect it. Lots of fun rewards to earn, and despite playing solo you can still contract your friends in order to see their builds in small doses. I would not recommend this game for story reasons, but if the gameplay looks fun for you, then you'll probably enjoy it.

Beat the game in less than 10 hours. It's entertaining, especially if you enjoy Justin Roiland's humor. Aside from being short, the game play and story are very fun. The boss fight against Nipulan made me seriously motion sick and ruined replayability for me.

I've played this game for thousands of hours on Xbox and Origins, I only recently purchased it again via Steam because it was on sale. The combat in this game is so gratifying and makes you feel powerful, without being OP. The characters are unique and interesting, the over-arching story is fascinating, in-depth, and immersive. Your choices matter and change how the story progresses, giving it near-endless chances for replayability options. If you enjoy single player, story-driven RPGs with emphasis on character relationship, combat, and choice then this game is for you.

Literally my only complaint about this game is that it is much too short. Even with completing all of the side quests and farming all of the little things barely pulled my completion time up to 30 hours. However, I am only saddened by the length of the game due to how enjoyable it is! The story was simple but interesting, the combat and game mechanics were engaging and fun, the fetch quests are minimal and kept on the side, and the myriad of options for clothing, skills, and play-style were a limited but fun addition. If you watch the game-play previews for this game and think that it looks fun, you will have fun!

I cannot sing the praises that I have for this game loud enough! Not only is the game extremely fun and addictive, the community is also very kind and willing to help you find a partner. Bravo, Hazelight Studios! The story is engaging and entertaining, the characters are cute and lovable, the game mechanics are honed to perfection. You can even play for free if you know someone who owns it already, there are zero reasons not to try it. Seriously, play this game!

I waited to purchase this game until after Microsoft purchased Bethesda in order to avoid the majority of issues this game has had. I definitely enjoy playing the game, but there are still some unfortunate issues. Bethesda support is garbage, so I hope you're computer literate in case something happens with your game. There are only two end-game events, which make it extremely difficult to stay involved with the game long-term if you are uninterested in replaying only the dozen daily quests and 2 end-game events repeatedly until new DLC is released. The community is mostly helpful and kind, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its bad apples. Bottom line, ask a friend who owns the game if they think you would find this game a worthy purchase. For some, it will be worth it. For others, you may want to look elsewhere.
