It was a fun experience!

The game itself is good - it's the developers that I have a problem with. You *cannot* join their Discord at all. I mean, you can, but you have to _fill out an application_ and wait.. indefinitely.. until they either let you in or don't. All I wanted to do was ask for some help in the game and be part of the community - but it's clearly some sort of super exclusive club that if you don't meet some arbitrary criteria then you are not welcomed at all.

Listen, I get it, you want to create a safe place for people to be themselves and not worry about trolls stirring up trouble. I appreciate that kind of determination - but for the love of all that is holy, at least have a channel for people like me who just want to _talk about the game_ be able to talk about the game. A staging channel to allow others to get to know people before they're given access to the rest of the server. That makes more sense than whatever the heck this is.

If you want support for the game don't bother going to Discord. Ask in the forums or on Reddit.. might be better off there. Developers should be ashamed of themselves for creating such an exclusive community. That is the exact opposite of inclusivity.

I'm actually kind of surprised by this game. It's a decent successor to the Left 4 Dead franchise, unlike Back 4 Blood which was just... mediocre. What would make WWZ Aftermath really stand out is if it had workshop support. Custom maps would be a HUGE win.

I'm not very good at writing reviews that anyone would care to read.. but it's a pretty good game. It's not as deep as Dwarf Fortress, but it certainly has the replayability!

STRIKE THE EARTH!

I am terrible at Dwarf Fortress even though I have been playing off and on for several years. This version really improves everything tenfold. Graphics, music, the TUTORIAL! Everything is so much better and I would say it is 100% worth the price tag. Decades of work well paid off, and they'll continue to release updates for free!

It’s a fun game, basically low poly DayZ with functioning zombies and a heavier emphasis on crafting. I wish the map size was bigger and supported more players. DayZ needs competition and this developer seems competent enough to give them a run for their money.

My understanding is there is heavy inspiration from Escape from Tarkov. It shows and I kind of like that.

It is EA, and for $10 it’s a good buy. It looks as though they plan on adding significantly more content as well.

I'm really enjoying the game. I think for $15 it's worth it in preparation for the main game (which is entirely different in gameplay).

Multiplayer is really fun. I am looking forward to the Singleplayer!

New World is an annoyingly good game. It has a lot of potential, but right now it's being plagued with issues across the board. AGS can turn the ship around if they're willing. It's a beautiful game, but I can't recommend it until most of the issues are resolved. Funnily enough, the issues don't even seem to be crash to desktop (I haven't had one at least..) but with balance, weird sync issues, their inability to deal with bots/gold farmers, and their remarkable ability to break more every patch than they fix. I have never personally witnessed a company launch a feature then disable it within hours/days because it was fundamentally broken in spectacular ways. Transfer your character? You can dupe gold for days! Sell something on the market while offline? No gold for you! Drag your game window around mid-battle? Behold, you are now INVINCIBLE! Like what that perk says it can do for you? HA! It does NOTHING!

Honestly, it really needed about another year in the oven with longer testing sessions to iron out the kinks.

I still think it has potential. Just don't buy it until probably about June next year when they should (hopefully) have the kinks ironed out.

Oh and I'll continue playing just because I have invested some time anyway. It's really a love hate relationship right now, but at least it's not an abusive one... yet.

It's Halo meets Portal and it's REALLY FREAKING FUN.
