You start the game being abandoned on some random moon with a few starting crates full of gear as the devs felt sorry for us.
As a new player you will ofcourse be looking at the sky and wonder "This is pretty cool" for a minute befor checking out what goodies you have in your chests to start playing with.

Spare you the details because you will be dead befor I am finished, but here is the rundown:
You are starving and soon to be dead, no kidding, we'll talk at respawn number 5, if you're lucky....
The first goal is to get a limited food production up with a greenhouse, I'll give you a tip: room temp between 30-40c and put a pipe radiator on the water pipe as plants like moderate water temp aswel ;)
Once you died a few times setting up your greenhouse the game really opens up!

Chemicals: you have gasses that react to temperatures, mixing for breathing and fuel for the welder, generator and furnace.
Electrical: logic galore! I won't even go into the details.
Manufacturing: mining ores to smelt into ignots to make a whole range of items and ice to smelt down into gasses and capture for your filtration and mixing.
Building: a whole lot of items to build your base with, add logic circuits as crazy as you can imagine and tie it all into an automated refinery, climate control and really cool looking bases monitoring every aspect of it!

Pro's: tons more to come while the game matures and most awesome devs ever with their own discord you can approach them with problems or questions.
Con's: most people will have to get used to the controls, inventory management and how the game plays with only 2 hands, but when used ot it, it will feel like second nature.

With the discord being open for every one, there is a great community being built who will also help answering questions, trouble shoot with you or even hop on to your game to show directly and help fix on a rare occasion.
If you love building games then there is a good change you will loose a portion of your life :-)
The game requires lots of patience, if you don't have that with an Early Access then you will only get frustrated. This is not an FPS game.

All I can say is that personally, I fell in love with the game also for the fact that the developers are so open and easily accessible unlike anything I have seen so far.
Highly recommend if you feel at home tinkering with things for ever!

ps; there's also a sandbox in space where you don't have to mine, ya lazy bums... ;)
