Sekiro: Shadows die Twice is a Souls-like game who plays in the Sengoku Time period.

To the Story:
You are a Shinobi who has sworn to protect your young Master (Kuro) with your Live, in a Time where Intrigues and War rages on. Can you protect your Master or will you fail?

The Adventure awaits you, in this Atmospheric and multi Ending Story.

To the Gameplay:
1. Not like in the other Souls-like games you can Spend (souls,…) for Stat upgrading. In Sekiro the Exp you get by Killing an enemy is for your Skills, who will unlock other ways you can fight your enemy’s but also giving you some passive things like that you aren’t that fast detected by enemy’s.
2. The whole Backstep mechanic is different, that means you cant Backstep enemy’s in a fight anymore. Only if you break there defense or using a skill that hides you, so that they cant see you anymore but it only works sometimes due they need to lose the track of you first :/ .
3. Stealth is “essential” if you want to get rid of weak enemy’s fast or if you want to clear one whole live of a mini Boss. The Game gives you many ways to progress and some are without you being noticed at all. Dogs will find you in stealth mode so you need to watchout.
4. Stats through mini bosses. If you want to raise your Health or want to get stronger you need to fight mini bosses. Those bosses are mostly set up in the direction you need to go, so you cant miss most of them. Nearly all of these Bosses have a few attacks who are critical to avoid, so be careful.
5. You have Shinobi tools. With these tools you can depending on your tool shoot some enemy’s out of a distance or poison them,... Once you unlock the skills for your tools you will get an advantage in fights but if you want stronger tools you will need to upgrade them. All upgrades have pro and contra’s for example its slower.
6. You will notice the Parry is a bit different from the other Souls-like games but its still based on timing.

All those points bring up a fluently Action based Gameplay and a great combat feeling.

(Skip if you don’t like a few explanations and thoughts.)
General stuff:
1. Your Shinobi tools are your “Trick-weapon” from Bloodborne but just a bit different.
2. You only have your sword given by your Master, you cant change that but there is an Odachi that you can use via a Skill, later in the Game.
3. Getting stronger, you might notice that if you get stronger the enemy’s nearly keep the same but if you go back in easier Territory’s you will see how strong you have grown.
4. Backtracking. There will be a bit of Backtracking as example if you want to find a shinobi tool/weapon you may have missed. A good thing is you can buy letters who stands where those are hidden.
5. There is a Mask you can build together that looks a bit like the Father mask from DS1 but in Sekiro style of course.
6. There are Multi Endings and there is New Game+
7. Don’t worry to much about Rebirth. Maybe you have heard of it there is a curse that inflicts the people you meet, it makes that you cant talk with them, that they look bad and so on but you can still trade. Even if you reach 0% Chance of getting your stuff back after dying to often and making all ill you can still progress if you at least got a minimum far with the Story.

I can fully recommend the Game but be warned it can be highly difficult.
