Gerrit Muskebier was not born into money, nor did he inherit a brewery empire. He was a farm boy from the flat fields near Zwolle, where the windmills turned and the scent of fresh barley often hung in the air. What he did inherit, though, was a stubborn streak and a passion for brewing.
