Peak Yakuza storytelling, the ending made me cry on both of my playthroughs. The combat is great, it's somewhere between Judgment and Lost Judgment in quality. However, some boss fights can be frustrating due to the bizarre amount of hyper armor that they have, which limits your possibilities for cool combos and setups by a lot. Mods fix this issue somewhat, but it's still not quite up there like in Lost Judgment, but it gets pretty close to it. Overall, I highly recommend this game to anyone who is invested in the Yakuza storyline.

This game manages to be simultaneously scary and extremely funny at the same time. If you're the person who's sitting in the spaceship guiding others, the chaos ensues as soon as someone spots a monster. Someone starts screaming over the walkie-talkie so you scramble to get them on the monitor, so you're trying to decipher the information you can get from the janky monitor to guide them through a claustrophobic and dark maze to safety. Meanwhile, another player asks you to open a door which makes your messages over the walkie-talkie completely incomprehensible to the player running away, and you're just desperately trying to control the situation and trying to keep track of 10 things at once while keeping your cool. I've never had this much fun just staring at a screen and guiding other players through the randomly generated buildings, and that's only one role you can take onto while playing it. It's one of the most fun 4 player coop games I've played in a long time

A fantastic spectacle fighter combined with a rhythm game. If you like DMC and rhythm games, this game is for you.

The beginning of Generation Zero is incredible. You have barely any ammunition, no resources -- basically nothing. This results in a very careful and methodical playstyle -- every shot you miss puts you one step closer to the grave, your excitement and anxiety grows.
It's a shame that this lasts for 2, maybe 3 hours before you collect so much ammunition that you can't possibly hold all of it, so you start mindlessly killing robots in your vicinity. By this point you've probably encountered most enemy types -- get used to it, there is NOTHING else besides them. But you push on in hopes of there being more to discover.
Well, there isn't. You find out that you have six warboards you need to go to where you do the exact same thing. Kill three robots to get codes to some bunker, go to the bunker, rinse and repeat.
There's not enough content for the game to remain interesting. It's truly disappointing -- there is so much potential in this game that is wasted on mindless repetition. Maybe there are some redeeming qualities in the endgame -- I wouldn't know -- I've lost interest long before I would even get to that point.

The best hack and slash game out there. The amount of combos you can do in this game is insane.

I have a love-hate relationship with this game. On one hand it's the most fun simcade driving game that I've had the pleasure of playing over the last few years, with hours upon hours of content, amazing graphics, and a really good car selection.

On the other, it's straight up THE most miserable multiplayer experience I have ever had with any game in my life.

Case 1: At it's worst, you can wait up to 15 MINUTES to get into one match, which takes lasts like 3 to 7 minutes at most. And THEN the game might just spontaneously crash whenever it feels like it. It seems to have gotten better since the Steam launch

Case 2:
I wasn't able to play with my friends (who bought the game on the Microsoft Store) for 3 WEEKS because the DNS servers were down, and any support tickets were marked as "answered" even if the issue wasn't solved. Instead of actually fixing the problem, which was clearly on their end, their support deflected instead and put the blame on the players themselves. Only when the servers went down completely and enough people started complaining about it (after 2 weeks since the issue has started) they actually started doing something, and even then, it took them one week straight to actually fix the problem.

Treat this review as a "neutral rating", since Steam doesn't have that option.
Ultimately, the core gameplay is so much fun that I would still highly recommend this game if you're into racing games. Just don't set your expectations for the multiplayer aspect of this game too high because you're just going to end up as disappointed as I am.
