Shadow Generations is just proof that if Sonic Team actually put in a plan and focus on that 1 idea, Sonic Forces could've been a good game and not the clutter mediocrity that it was. Sonic x Shadow Generation shows that the boost formula still has merit to it and that Sonic Generations is still one of the best sonic games out there period, to have that with one of the most fun Shadow experiences, this so worth the $50 they're asking. One of the rare W's that Sega has accomplished and they need to keep this momentum going with the next 3D sonic game. Please Sega please! PLEASE!!!

I know my reviews for games can be long and intricate...but F*ck man, this game is too cute and charming.

For Free game, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog has a lot of effort put into it for being such a simple April Fools Point & Click game. With Sonic and the Gang celebrating Amy's Birthday, she wants to throw a Murder Mystery Party on this train she rented, but things turn for the worst where Sonic the hedgehog did get murdered...or did he?

What can I say the writing is charming, the characterization of the Characters and the roles they play in this mystery party is cute, there's just really nothing to complain about...although if I did have one thing against this game is that the murderer is the same person, I would've like it if there were multiple playthroughs were a different character did the deed and you solve it with real logic and deductive reasoning, but this game is made for young audiences so I understand why they didn't.

Still, Free and a fun time for a few hours. These fun little side games are what I always wanted from Sega while we wait for the next mainline Sonic games.

More of this, please!

It's games like this where I wish there was a kinda recommendation option for these reviews, because I do like the collection but at the same time it has a lot of problems that don't make it worth the $40 price considering what the sonic community accomplished over the years with these classic games.

The problem is we've had collections of these games before with Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic 3&K. While it is nice to have them all in a convenient collection for modern consoles, older generation consoles had better collections such as Mega Collection, Ultimate Genesis Collection, hell even Gems collections.

Each game comes with a few problems that to some could make them not really worth purchasing this collection. As some one who have been playing these games for 20+ years, I know these games like the back of my hand and know what trouble this collection brings.

Sonic 1: I didn't really experience too much trouble with Sonic 1, I think its the most stable out of all them, but on occasion there will be a glitch here or there where the collision detection screws around.

Sonic 2: Tails in is this game where you have him paired with Sonic is bonkers, there are times where he would get stuck somewhere and wouldn't progress, hearing his constant jumping noise was getting annoying after a while, where now if I play this version I just play with either Sonic or Tails alone.

Sonic CD: Again, didn't really have much problems with this game, but that could be that it's the Christian Whitehead version which Sonic 1 & 2 both are as well. Unlike Sonic 1 & 2, CD has stayed mostly in tack so that's good.

Sonic 3&K: My favorite Sonic game period, this one gave me the most trouble out of all of them sad to say. This version was made from the ground up on the same engine Sonic 1 & 2 were on this collection, but unlike those two, Sonic 3&K had its port so half assed made that Headcannon (who worked on this port along with helping to make Sonic Mania) came out an apologize for how bad of a job Sega did and that the fans deserve better. The programming is crazy, with certain tricks I know I can get away with in older ports get me killed cheaply in here. I know that also people are not a big of a fan of the Sonic 3 music getting replace by the PC collection soundtrack from 1997 (Which is the beta music from the games before the final release), I don't mind them that much, but I do prefer the genesis tracks any day. At least they're mods for the music if you want to add the original music back you can.

All Games: For some reason, the games are blurry which doesn't make much sense, again mods can fix this issue if you want to play this collection

Extras: The extras like the museum and mission mode is okay. Mission Mode can add additional playtime to this collection, but only if you care about getting the highest rank in every mission. Museum mode has some cool Sonic history, concept art, music player, and etc, but the museum is bugging where if you buy the DLC to add more songs into it, the names don't match the track. The only really good and cool thing that they added is the new animated cutscenes, they're are so charming and good it make me feel like they're wasted on this collection.

Sonic Origins does what it accomplishes, it gives you Sonic 1,2,CD,3&K allowing you to play the original 4:3 ratio or 16:9 in this convenient package...but that's it. With fan hacks such as Sonic 1 Forever, Sonic 2 absolute, and Sonic 3 AIR, there's no real point to owning this collection unless you want to officially own these games considering Sega delisted legacy versions of these games on PC and other consoles, meaning this is only way to own them.

Who knows, maybe with Sonic Origins Plus coming this June, maybe that will make this package more worth while. Maybe

To be honest, I like most other longtime Sonic fans didn't have much faith in Sonic Frontiers. After the burn of mediocrity that was Sonic Forces, Sonic Team was no longer putting out the quality titles some of us grew up on. Even the lead up to this game didn't give out a positive input within the community, but through all the trials and tribulations, Iizuka stuck by this game and told us to give it a shot regardless of press...well, for once he was right.

Sonic Frontiers' open zone mentality is super fun, while the game is just a huge playground with things to do here or there, I haven't had this much fun with a Sonic Team game since Generations. They really wanted to create a future blueprint for the series so that they can continue making more Sonic games like this.

Sonic Frontiers really does try with its Story, since this time around long time Sonic the Hedgehog comic writer Ian Flynn headed the story for this one with a few others, that made me want to continue playing to see what happens next. While the story is not that strong, the characterization of Sonic and friends in this game is great and made me feel emotions I have never felt in a sonic game before. As for the gameplay loop, while I enjoyed myself throughout the game even beating it twice from start to finish, it still needs some improvement. Gathering memories for your friends is not a bad mechanic but after a while of going thorough obstacle courses again and again you want to get a move on, which is why I'm glad that Big the Cat's fishing mini game mitigates that tedious grind. The cyber space levels are okay, with them definitely being the weakest part of the experience, I don't think I'm tired of the boost formula but it feels like they are and honestly I would be okay if we never see them ever again. Soundtrack wise is mixed for me, while the open zone music is alright, the boss music and the cyberspace music can slap that's for sure. Boss battles are pretty fun even sometimes they can be a bit wonky sometimes, still overall really fun.

And honestly that's the best way I can describe my experience with Sonic Frontiers, really fun but overall can grow and improve with future entries. We didn't know what to think before this game came out, but I'm glad I had fun with this one rather it just being another dud in the Sonic plethora of Mediocre to bad games pile. Hear this now though Iizuka and Sonic Team, right now you have our trust and undivided attention again, don't go squandering that trust again.

Please.

As much as this review is gonna sound a bit negative even though I'm giving it a thumbs up for recommendation, let that speak to just how much of a mix bag Team Sonic Racing is. While it definitely has good moments that will please a lot of sonic fans, you're average mascot kart racing fan will probably find the holes in this game too much to bear.

It's been years since Sumo Digital put out Sonic and All Star Racing Transformed, a game that to this day is still worth playing for the content it contains at its current price of $20. Team Sonic Racing is the next logical step for the series as Sonic pretty much started to take over the titles of Sonic and Sega All Stars series with each entry. We kinda knew eventually that only Sonic characters would be playable only, as it is Sega's bread and butter anymore. Even though this title is a budget title that's not full price, it feels like it with some odd choices they decided on.

The biggest gimmick of the game is the Team Racing mechanic, working together with 2 NPCs or 2 other Players to total enough position points to get first out of four teams. With players this can be fun, but forced with NPCs can be a disaster at times as the NPCs will most likely not do any tricks or take shortcuts that a real Player would do. This mode is better with people for sure, but it is nice that your not forced to play this mode only in the game, only when playing the single player story which is alright at best, with Sonic and Friends saying one liners that range from pretty funny to pretty cringe; also online mode which ill go over later.

There is a single racer mode which you play the traditional way with a free for all race and who comes in first wins like normal. The tracks in the game can be fun with them being broken into their own zones with a three act structure like in the classic sonic games of old, but I will say the dynamic feeling of the tracks like in Transformed are not present here. These tracks stay the same from lap 1 to lap 3, making me really miss that personality a 7 year old game accomplished back then. The soundtrack though is the best thing about this game, but that's usually the case with sonic games. You have custom car parts that do effect your driver especially now each driver has there own class of Speed, Technical, or Power. Getting the part is very gotcha game like where you spend in game currency to get a random chance to get a part, and while this sounds bad, most of the time they give you parts for the characters you play the most with anyway. Makes me wonder then what was the point of it if they just handed them to me.

Last but not least there's the online mode which I hate to say is the worst thing about this game. For some reason they took out online lobbies and now you just have to wait in the waiting room for other players to join and the games net play can be very bad at times, its sad when they got this right in Transformed but not for a game in 2019.

Let this be a WARNING, if you've played any of the Souls-like games from FromSoftware, throw that knowledge along with the bathwater because Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is nothing like those games.

When playing this game you'll have to adapt yourself to a new set of skills, that requires time, patience, and extreme self discipline. If you're not interested in this game after telling you that, then Sekiro may not be the game for you then. When you do happen to take the time to learn, this game is one the finest examples of taking learning curve, owning up to it, and with every victory you scored makes you feel like a champion!

Sekiro mixes it fast combat with stealth tactics and exploration for a very rewarding system of play. Being aggressive is necessary but being calm and on the defensive side will have you master the POSTURE mechanic of this game and this revolves around everything. Every boss and enemy has their show and tells and taking the time to study them is part of the experience. If you die you will be punished, you won't have a chance to get your lvl experience or money back if you die, but you do get a second chance and are able to resurrect to get another fighting chance. It's enough to say "I'm not done with you yet!" but this also does come with its own risks giving a system that just as risk vs reward as Dark Souls.

This game may not be for everyone and frankly Bloodborne is still my personal favorite Souls-like game, but Sekiro is a gamers' treat for helping them learn self discipline and patience. Making this one the most rewarding games of 2019!

If you're looking for your next Sonic fix then I'm afraid this isn't it. Sonic Forces is a bland, passionless game with no actual effort put into it. As some one who has played all the boosted games from Unleashed to Generations, Sonic Forces level design is dry and un-inventive. The avatar is one of the cool parts of the game, but mileage may vary when using this feature.

The story is boring and doesn't go anywhere, even though producer Izuka said in previous interviews that big events would happen in this game, especially with the new villain Infinite. Not the case though, he seems like a side note in comparison to Eggman and has a terrible origin story and some of the worst closure I've seen for character in a while. Also Classic Sonic has no bare on the story, he really should've just stuck with Mania as his play style to me is the worst one out the three. Modern Sonic and Avatar are alright but I don't just want "alright" to be the standard for my sonic games.

Sonic Forces is a sonic game that runs on auto pilot, it check marks the things that are in Sonic games and does nothing original or inventive with them. It's a fine game, but cannot recommend this for how mediocre this experience really was.

Im gonna be honest, the DRM was stupid choice to put in there, considering the fact that this game is a Single Player experenice with local multiplayer. With that said, I don't like how the reviews are attaching that to the rest of the game. I will admit DRM doesn't effect me much but I can understand why people are angry about that, but when you look past it Sonic Mania is an Amazing game.

Sonic Mania embarks back to the old days of the Sega Genesis and Saturn, giving a new 2D experience with old levels remixed and new levels that are so well designed you wish they were more of them (Not surprise to see that choice was made by Sonic Team producer Iizuka). Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles control just as well as they did in S3&K and make the playthroughs different from one another.

The graphics are so beautiful in HD running at 60fps and the soundtrack done by the talented Tee Lopes makes the experience even more enjoyable. This version of the game also fixes bugs that plagued the console ports (PS I also own this game on Switch).

All in all if you're really upset with DRM then theres nothing I can say that will convince you to purchase this game, but If you don't mind like me, then you get a Sonic Game that we've needed for 20 years. I still think S3&K is better considering it still has original levels, but Sonic Mania is a must buy for any Sonic Fan!

Pros:
+ Great Gameplay
+Multiple Characters
+ Beautiful Sprite Animations
+Great Soundtrack
+ Love letter References to the Franchise

Cons:
- Forced DRM
- Not enough new levels
- References only long time Sonic Fans will Apperciate
