This game made me feel like Eggman, because I can’t stand Sonic.

This game may not be the worst sonic game... but it just isn't fun. (Ignore my 1 hour, I have 50+ more in Playstation.)

Episode Shadow is pretty much the best the game can offer, and aside from a few select levels-- when you get the necessary wispons-- the only fun one being lighting imo-- the game is just flat out boring.

The sliding water sections that people complain about, that's just skill issue. Those actually control very well if you know how to work with the level, a lot like bingo highway in Sonic Heroes, I actually enjoy them.

Sure, the level design can sometimes be poor, but given how short every level is, it pretty much just feels like puzzle platforming without the puzzles or satisfaction. And because every level is so short the soundtrack just never gets to show itself off. Just go on spotify and listen to the music there instead of playing this game, you'll have much more enjoyment doing that then actually playing the game itself.

If you absolutely must play this game, or maybe just want to grind achievements, you could admittedly do much worse, but still... I don't think it's worth it. I only re-bought this game to prove a point with one of my friends. BUT, after I re-complete the game, I do plan on, on-occasion, replaying the few levels that I actually enjoy. What I'm saying is... IF YOU REALLY WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME... you could do a hell of a lot worse. Just... know what you're getting into.

Oh, and I so recommend binding the d-pad as joystick controls for steam input if you haven't already. That makes the 2d sections so much more bearable and controllable. You still gotta fight automation, but it's better than mis-inputting.

Soon, I was on the menu, greeted first hand by the eldritch horror of Sonic the Hedgehog herself, calling to me, Speaking not to my face, but into my very soul, I could feel his low polygonal Eyes digging deeper and deeper into my fractured mind, but the torment didn't stop there, no... No no no...
The deeper I dove, the more I forgot what life was like before, before the Songs, Before the rhythm games, the Bunny herding, The Smoothies, the Pumpkins.... AND that Pip... THAT TERRIBLE VIXEN OF SATAN, Forcing me to kneel, to give in to my weakness and fetch this, Fetch that, Go get these Items, Oh no, Go get that Item...
It has been years now. AND EVEN NOW, after so long, I can still see his eyes, I can feel those Eyes... Those Large... Emerald green eyes, burning into my skull! Every night when I close my eyes... he is there, haunting me, making sure that every waking moment of my shackled life is lived with Agony!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, IT ISN'T JUST A GAME, IT IS A CURSE, A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HEX that will claim you just as it did me! It is too late for me, the walls close in around me, the darkness is coming I can sense it...
