Parkour is fun and gunplay feels decent, but a lack of basic third person shooter features like the ability to swap aim shoulder really hurts the game.

A serious hacker problem with no ingame report function will kill any enjoyment you could find, especially since multiple hackers are present in every lobby.

But hey, cool cosmetics that cost $20 a pop, that's all a battle royale actually needs right?

This game has a lot to get you really immersed into the setting, some really nice missions, survival mechanics that aren't too overbearing, and a decent story.

But my god, the combat...

I tried to give it a chance, everyone was saying that Henry starts out as inept and is supposed to get his ass kicked at the start.

But when I'm nearly 18 hours in, have full plate, have spent several hours real time practicing with the captain and learning new combos AND I still die to two drunk bandits wearing regular clothing because every time I swing at them they either perfect block or master strike me (a perfect block that gives them a free counter), then what's the point?

Only redeeming factor of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is Farkle

Unfortunately I find myself winning matching more often when I equip the fastest attacks and just hit random buttons then when I try to make smart combos that flow well.

Out of 23 hours of playtime with about 19 hours in PvP I have been parried by NPCs several times, but have only been parried once by a real player. This is just one example of the problem posed by lightning fast moves because along with the player's abilities these fast moves nullify feinting, dodging, and blocking rendering a good portion of the game pointless.

If you want to see this for yourself get it now while it's on sale and jump straight into the PvP. Just don't make the same mistake I did, you only have 2 hours of playtime til you can't refund it.

Spawn in naked
Looking good so far
Start Freezing
Stand next to fire for 30 min until nighttime ends
Talk to some russian dude who wants me to go kill a wolf with a kitchen knife
Kill the wolf
Collect quest rewards
Die from wolf wounds
Quest restarts, but I keep the rewards

Eventually complete the quest without bleeding out
Craft makeshift rifle
Loot a house and get decent supplies
Heading back to base to store supplies
Several looters camping the base entrance
Respawn

Maybe I'll have better luck if I got the other direction
Passing a town, oh cool are those guard towers?
Maybe there is special loot in th-
Surprise Cyka Blyat as Npc laser beams me with his ak from several hundred feet away
Ok this time I'll skip the town
Looting a construction site, Surprise Cyka Blyat as another NPC laser beams me from a guard tower on the other side of the construction sight

Final Verdict: If you enjoy getting killed by NPCs in literally every area you're gonna have a blast

Think of a horrible and buggy Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Oh, and don't forget the stupid abilities that people spam all game.

It looks fun on the cover and it definately gave me some good moments in the hour that I played it for, but I guess it's just not for me.

It feels like all the guns either 1 or 2 shot other players which is great for historical accuracy and for a hardcore shooter, but only on paper. Because what it ends up boiling down to is hiding behind cover and waiting for the other team to get impatient and peak first. Now don't get me wrong, there are definately tactical elements to be had, but I guess I just don't have the patience for it all.

Overall, it's a decent hardcore fps and is definately worth the $25 price tag, but it's not for everyone.

Remember how bad For Honor was when it first released? Think that, but 20x worse

[EDIT]
{With the addition of 2 new characters and numerous patches I would like to add that if anything, For Honor has gotten much much worse than it previously was. The 2 new charcters give a breath of fresh air by countering the former {defense meta}, but at the same time add in new combos that become completely broken when more than 1 of the new characters is on a single team.

Overall, game has deteriorated to a level previously unknown. A sad fate for such a beautiful concept, but a reminder of how ♥♥♥♥ a company Ubisoft is!}

As much as I want to enjoy this game it becomes too obvious too early on that its development was rushed and that the final product has very little polish.

Many characters are riddled with bugs or are simply far more powerful than the others and when combined with the poorly desgined gear system make several characters almost entirely obsolete. Game balance is practically nonexistant and in higher level play people will just stand still and wait for you to attack so they can counter.

The progression system is terribly grindy and is reminiscent of what you might find in a free to play game.

As you've probably already heard the servers, or lack thereof, are a complete joke with constant disconnections and stutters.

Overall this game has incredible core mechanics, but was executed in such a horrible way that only Ubisoft could manage. Don't waste the $60, you'll regret it if you do.

Wow, this game is something special. I might be a bit biased since this was the first video games I ever played, but it deserves to be in your Library. Engaging resource mangement, strategic combat, and decent multiplayer make this game a must have for strategy game players.

Although not much except for the DLCs and HD have been added since its release the game still holds up and has aged well.
