As far as Demo-Like opportunities go, this is among the best I've played! I genuinely can not wait for the full game to launch with what we're being given so far with this.

Updating this Review after the Season 3 Patch, and removing all I said before because admittedly? Nothing really changed. The Season 3 Patch is more of the same -- Lying to us about everything, changing next to nothing, buffing everyone for no reason, giving us a bunch of recycled animations. A year of waiting for...this? A nothing burger of a patch that just proves that Season 2 (the single *worst* patch any Fighting Game has ever released) was *always* the plan.

Should you buy this game? Hell. No. Do not give Bandai Namco or the Tekken team your money, they will waste it, and they will spit in your face for it. This team and this company *do not care* about this game, and that much is obvious as of Season 3.

Well, it seems like democracy wins again Helldivers. Great job out there, and lets hope they continue to listen when we make it clear that we are not happy with their changes. Never forget our victory over SONY.

Now, a lot of people are going to give this game an overall bad review for things like...
- Lack of Single Player Content
- Previous main-stay characters locked behind DLC
- How long it takes to get matches
- How "unfair" certain characters (specifically Akuma and Geese it seems) are
- The Story and Arcade modes being bad.

Let me clear the air a bit. Tekken 7 is a fantastic fighter, and has quickly become the only fighting game capable of keeping me coming back for more and more. I mostly play with my friends when I do play, though recently I've gotten on the Rank Grind. The Rank System is uh..."unique" is one way to put it, but I can not say that it has even taken "literally 1 hour" for me to find a match. As of the last week or two it's only taken me a max of 2 minutes. I'd say that if you're planning on playing the online mode, play during the day and not at 1 AM for the best chances of finding a match, unless you're playing in private lobbies with friends.

As for the characters and DLC, to me it has not been that bad considering I never felt pressured into getting characters like Geese, Noctis, Negan, etc, because the original cast of characters available in the base game are strong enough and have tools to help you fight against these characters with ease, although I will warn that you can not, as of writing this review, lab the characters in practice mode if you do not own the DLC, which is a huge minus. Though as for why those characters are not in base game, I will just leave it at: Harada and Murray had to basically get on their knees and beg Bamco to let them make Tekken 7, so there is no way this game got ACTUAL funding like it should have. Because of this reason, Single Player Content and Characters had to suffer, and of all the companies to give my money over for DLC, I'm perfectly fine giving it to companies like Bamco, because at least the DLC aren't being sold to me for the price of a triple A release title, like some games, or sold back to me in lootboxes.

As for the games balance, I know a lot of people are going to try and say that this game is not balanced, because "everyone at top level plays the same 4 characters", and while they aren't wrong, Season 3, and the last 2 weeks of my online ranked experience have lead me to not have had the same match-up twice in a row. I've seen Gigas, I've seen Jack, I've seen Leo, Julia, Josie, Kuma/Panda, Hwo, Lee, etc...The game does feel far more balanced in this current season then it did in previous seasons, but of course if you look at the highest level of play, a lot of players will completely ignore any sort of character loyalty or comfort and pick what might help give them an edge against other top players. Though, the recent REV Major really did help show that this is no longer the case, with characters like Anna, Zafina, and Yoshimitsu being able to make it to top 8. So, don't listen to these people who ♥♥♥♥♥ about the character balance, and just play whatever character you feel you want to, or whatever character you enjoy the most. You will still find success with it, EyeMusician and Rangchu proved that to us. As for the "unfair" characters. Negan and Noctis are noobkillers who struggle after low-mid level play, and you can very easily just side step Eliza/Akuma/Geese's projectiles.

TL;DR: Pro's
The gameplay is balanced and fun, with a ton of characters. Online has definitely gotten FAR better since Season 1, and you will find yourself being able to get ranked games decently quickly since they eliminated the Kyu ranks from Online. It is an easy game to pick up at a lower level but has PLENTY of in depth mechanics and intricacies to keep you interested, although the game is definitely hard to master.

Con's
There really is no offline mode of any kind, the Arcade mode lacks heavily, the Story isn't too bad (at least some of the fights were creative instead of the MK thing where character walks in, they talk back and forth and man says "ROUND 1!", some will jump you right into the action) but holy ♥♥♥♥ that Voice Actor for the Narrator must have not gotten any sort of pay because it sounds like he has 0 interest in what he's saying, and of course the story was something like the new Star Wars. A spectacle the first time but the more you look at it the less you like it after.

All in All, Tekken 7 gets an 8/10 for me, since Offline modes have never been something I enjoyed doing in the first place, and I have a large group of friends that play this game with me. I would highly recommend giving this game a try, especially if it's on sale. Harada and Murray have done an excellent job with essentially no budget, and we have a lot to look forward too coming from Season 3, and not just in terms of paid for DLC.

The very best thing I can say about this game, is that it is fun for a while. Not a super long amount of time. Simple Combo's and inputs make it a nice game to just, shut your brain off and enjoy the game. But it does have it's issues.

A short story mode, with short progression of characters and very limited character skill points. A small variety of characters, and enemies do hurt the game, at least in my opinion, a lot.
However,
This game had almost 0 work done to it for so painfully long, but the shuffle and changes done to the team behind the RT Games has definitely helped this game out so very much. The game has seen more updates in the last 2 months then it has in the last 2 years, pretty much.

While the game is heavily lacking content currently, and is a DLC fest for Cosmetics, it does seem to have, at least for now, a very bright future ahead of it if the team listens to the community feedback, and puts in the work, and love that this game needs.

Early Access Review
Hello! If you're thinking about buying this game, then by all means I hope this helps.

FIRSTLY: This game is actually really good. It looks good, plays well, and has some very cool mechanics (though you'll see many of these exact mechanics in just about any one of the limitless number of Zombie/Wasteland Survival Games). Nazgevane is a really amazing and beautiful map, and the randomly generated ones are pretty nice too. But, this game is not without it's problems.

The biggest issues I have with the game rest mostly in the progression of the Character and their levels and skills. A lot of the skills and such that would push the character forward are so akwardly paced out. You can get to what I'd call the mid-game stuff (Like, Iron and Blunderbuss' and the like) by something like Day 2, maybe Day 3, but then it takes FOREVER to get to what I'd call the end-game stuff (Steel and using Explosives and the like). Sometimes it would take myself and my group of friends up to Day 14 just to be able to craft Steel, which by then we were already very well equiped, and many of the items I could make with Steel didn't feel like that worth of an upgrade from their Iron counterparts.

Speaking of friends, this game feels uterly impossible to play by yourself with an enjoyable experience, which isn't really all that bad since a majority of the game feels like it was designed with Multiplayer in mind.

The only other complaints I have about the game is that base building, even with many people, feels like it takes forever, and with this actually aggrivating mechanic where they'll just shove random hordes at you starting Day 2 if you've found a place to settle down it takes even longer, with having to stop constantly to kill and repair. But, they do give you a LOT of different ways to build, different materials to build with, and even offer some really cool special blocks to give you as much control of the look of your base as they can.

The positives of this game pretty much are the graphics aren't awful, the gameplay while in a group of friends is actually really fun, base building, while aggrivating, is really fun and creative. The game still needs some work, and I really hope they can make a good balance to the skills and how the player(s) progress through the tiers of the game, but hey. That's why it's in Early Access.

All in All, if you're going to buy this game, buy it with friends. It really is a fun experience.
