My kind of Battle Royale!

The game is very polished and has cute characters, graphics and audio. It can be played both casually or in tryhard mode. Devs are actively listening to community feedback and working out the kinks. Most importantly, you can wear a pigeon outfit and troll people. What more could you ask for?

Early Access Review
A gem that pays homage to Asteroids!

Nova Drift is a roguelite that has a very enjoyable gameplay loop. There's a lot of replay value to this game even in Early Access, with multiple weapon types that react very differently with each of the modifications you obtain. This is a game you can pick up and play for a few minutes whenever you have the time.

If you are an OG gamer and have played Asteroids, this game would feel very familiar. The same control scheme has been followed in this game and it is a unique one (your weapon's direction is linked to your ship's direction), unlike most other games where the directions of the two are independent.

The look and feel of this game is very polished. Even in its present state, it has more than enough content to qualify as a full-fledged roguelite. I trust that the developers would add even more weapons and archetypes before the game leaves Early Access, so it's definitely worth at at its price point.

A very fluid platformer!

I am a big Devolver fan and hence bought this game knowing very little about it. I now think it is possibly the most polished Devolver game out there. The graphics are retro and nice to look at, the music is fantastic and fits the theme perfectly, the story is a roller-coaster ride that keeps the player gripped throughout and the mechanics are very fluid.

There is a decent amount of replayability to this game, which is nice since the game itself is short (takes around 5 hours to finish). Different dialogue options cause different interactions and overall story building. The game's levels can also be played casually like an Arcade game.

This is one of those games that makes the player feel powerful - the action is very dynamic and responsive to player inputs.

Early Access Review
Outstanding Roguelite that looks quite promising!

Having played (and loved) Bastion and Transistor, I had high expectations from Supergiant when I purchased Hades. It absolutely does not disappoint! The game is in Early Access at the time of my review and it has a huge amount of content already.

In my opinion it is as good as the best Roguelite games (Enter the Gungeon, Dead Cells, Isaac, Risk of Rain...) and is worth full price even in its Early Access state.

The art style is very polished and gives a classic Supergiant Games vibe. The soundtrack is good, it does not divert your attention from the game too much. The combat is very fluid which is great for a Roguelite.

One small negative is that the lategame fizzles out in my opinion. I don't feel the same motivation to replay it after a while like I would Dead Cells or Gungeon, Maybe this is just due to Early Access, only time will tell. However, the few hours I've played have been great and I will definitely return to it in the future.

One of the best Platformers of all time, with an added Metroidvania element.

I picked this game up just because I like the games Devolver puts out. I had no idea what to expect from The Messenger. It is a gem of a game that any gamer should definitely pick up!

The music is fantastic, the graphics are novel (there are 8-bit as well as 16-bit graphics that you shift between during the course of the game), the difficulty is well-balanced (Hardcore players would face a few obstacles and less experienced players would not find it too hard), the Metroidvania element is an added bonus (Though I would say it is less of a Metroidvania than something like Hollow Knight or Guacamelee, and more of a platformer).

P.S. Talk to the shopkeeper every time a new dialogue option shows up! His stories really add a lot to the game.

A platforming masterpiece!

The story is surprisingly deep, the atmosphere is captivating, the soundtrack blends in perfectly and the game mechanics are very fluid - even a small misstep of one pixel can be fatal in many conditions.

Being an avid Platformer/Metroidvania/Roguelike player, even I found this game difficult at times - However it is very rewarding to finally succeed at each step. Play it with Assist Mode on if you are looking for the experience without dying hundreds of times (Though I'd recommend playing it with it off!).
