It gets addicting

Very fun when playing with friends

Very fun game espacially with mods.

I played this game many times and it never gets old. It really gets you on the edge of your seat.

The soundtracks are very good, ambience is very creepy.

Perfectly designed puzzles, but they are not that easy to complete while monsters are roaming around. Water effects are very good for an old game.

As further you go in the castle the harder it gets. Things start to get more messed up.
Flashbacks/cutscenes telling you what horrible stuff you've done after you drank an amnesia potion. Funny little fact, when there is a monster roaming around and you get in the flashback/cutscene the monster will totally ignore you.
Light efects (candles and torches) are very well done. Watch out when lighting candles and torches because monsters can see you in the light. And you can't turn them off later when you lit them.
Don't rush the game because you never know when the monster will appear. Just find a hiding place and wait until it leaves. Practice opening and closing doors in case monster finds you and you need to run away. There is no exact number of how many times it takes the monster to break a door. Sometimes it's 5 (more or less). Very rarely it's 1 (that got me killed once).

Hard mode is indeed hard, but with enough practice you should be able to beat it without much problem. To save the game you will need 5 tinderboxes, which are very rare in hard mode. So choose carefully when are you going to save your game. Monsters are a little smarter. They will look around for you longer than before. You can make it easyer by opening the debug menu (I don't suggest it because then it wouldn't be hard mode) and see when monster spawns and despawns. And where is it going.

If you like horror games, this is definitly a game for you. Every minute of the game is worth it. Once you finished it, you will want to play it again.
The price is a little high for a 10 year old game but it's definitly worth getting on a discount.

10/10 game, no flaws in my opinion. Pretty good graphics. You'll enjoy every minute of it
