This game is brilliant when you have people to play it with and is especially good if you get involved in the community. The players are great and has one of the best communities I've seen as new players are welcomed due to the players realising that new players are essential to the game's life. As such, when there is a sale I often see veteran players sat in the spawn area waiting to help the new players by teaching them the basics of the game (which is easy now as the Devs have made a nice training area in the home region specifically for this).

You will enjoy this game if you have a lot of time to invest and now is the best time since summer is starting and schools are closing but if you are a more casual player, you may find it difficult to get fully invested and experience everything it has to offer. Due to this I recommend joining a clan as they will teach you the basics whilst showing you how to operate some of the end-game vehicles in the game e.g. Light tanks, Battle tanks, Gunboats, etc... thus giving you opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to obtain solo or working with 'randoms'.

Overall, the game is still in development but the Devs are actively adding more content with the game receiving the biggest update to date recently. They also hold events which can be lots of fun like Castle Clapfoot where the Wardens had to defend the Devs, in a Battle tank, from the Colonials so have a healthy relationship with the community and stream frequently to answer questions.

For the price this game is definitely worth it and you will easily get your moneys worth especially in a sale where there are lots of new players.

Bought this game in Alpha before vehicles and everything else was added. The game has became more fast-paced and arcadey over the years so I kept coming back and couldn't really settle in as it felt different to the game I originally bought. The ICO has changed that and I can say I'm absolutely loving it.

Since it has changed the game dramatically, making it a lot slower, which forces you to play more cooperatively. This is a return back to the game's original purpose (which the developers have said themselves), hence the name 'Squad'. Due to this drastic change however, it has received a lot of negative reviews from a very vocal minority of players who try and claim their high number of hours make them more qualified to critic the game. What people don't realise however is that these players are the ones who were enticed to keep playing as the game became faster paced and so clocked up the higher hours whereas, those of us who liked the original game stopped playing a while ago. As such, I will definitely be spending way more time on the game in the months to come.

Either way, no one person's opinion is better than anyone else's and everyone should have their own opinion but just take the recent spike in the negative reviews with a pinch of salt and don't let that reflect negatively on the game/update itself or what the majority of the community thinks (as they most are too busy enjoying themselves to write a review). It's best to try it yourself and see what you think which I highly recommend you do because the new update is awesome!
